I dare anyone to try and figure out how the matchmaking algorithm works in this game. I've spent four years trying to "fool" it so I didn't end up in those atrocious instakill type matches, and despite my best efforts I still get them from time to time. Though mostly not. The one thing I haven't figured out though is how to trick the system into giving me teammates of equal skill. They're either fresh off the boat or a master level two stack. Either way I'm screwed.

Ditto. I've played since S7 and I still can't figure out how the heck the MM is intended to work. I am not a fan of tinfoil hat theories, but sometimes the ones that swirl around for Apex MM can feel kinda real.Another example enemy kill me with 144 and i have full purple and heal and me with all shots not knoked antone, is server problem or someone use cheat?
i swear sometimes the mmr isn't working or is disabled idk why.
last night i had like 10-15lobbies in a row filled with only level 1-50 players.
the weirdest part is ppl in thoses lobby actually play the game instead of all hotdropping and ending the game in less than 3Min.
had fun in pubs for the first time in 6month.
or maybe all the sweats 3stacks boosted sooooo much their kda with the 3strikes mode that we have less sweat in regular mm.

I can guarantee you that it's not me getting better at the game. In fact, before this season started, I was pretty much absent for like 7 or 8 months due to stick drift and Apex was unplayable. I only came back to try Ballistic out on S17 but I only played like 2 or 3 games.Long time no hear. Welcome back.
@Asmodeus566 thanks, I was away yeah, I completely missed season 18. Didn't know Revenant was reworked.
@lnxtv all I can tell from your screenshot (I am also italian so I know) is that you've been hit by Fuse's tactical, then got 2 Hemlok bullets in your head. For all we know, you could have taken a few bullets beforehand. Also, your last 2 hits are from melee. If you are on controller, when you are too close to the enemy, you end up punching them once the mag runs out. But it looks like you are on MnK so I don't know why you'd go melee, unless you ran out of ammo on both weapons.
You should also go for headshots. I know it is not easy but try your best there.
A video would be better.
@Sutts2014 I had your same complaints for the longest time, but not this season. I guess I have a more favorable MM, I don't think it's my skills that improved. I still get bad teammates, and bad games though. Case in point, this deathmatch we lost 50-16. 1 of my teammates did a little above 1000 damage, the rest only did about 200/500. We lost bad? Yes, but I was so far above my teammates I couldn't even get mad lol.
