Gibraltar remote dome shield activation
Ever since Mad Maggie released, Gibraltar has been really lacking since his weaknesses line up perfectly with Maggie's strengths. Mad Maggie is really annoying (Maybe even overpowered) when you're playing Gibraltar. They increased the size of his dome shield, LMG gun shield generator. gave him support perks, and brought in legend perk upgrades, but it was never enough. What I devise is remote Dome shield activation
- Press the ability button to throw down the module.
- Any time you want, press it again to activate the shield itself
- Press it again to dissipate the shield and restart the cooldown early
It would be great for
- Flanking
- Retreating
- Initiating a strike
- Create a diversion. You could also run some distance and make the enemy think there's another squad
- Trolling
- Place it below a care package, it doesn't draw attention. Activate it if you take fire.
- Throw the module in front of a death box. Activate it sooner before entering the death box.
- Activate it when you have to reload or heal
- Dealing with Mad Maggie. Dissipate the shield early to get rid of Maggie's Riot drill
I wanna close this by reminding how annoying Gibraltar was on Apex legends mobile, but they also didn't have Mad Maggie. In Season 16, I could see this being a little unbalanced when paired with PathFinder's zipline because he can also scan care packages, but the care package scanning has lost its place in the newer seasons. It's pointless now. It could be used to basically increase the duration of Lifeline's new ultimate. It could be used to give Rampart cover remotely while she reloads Shiela, then dissipate the shield once loaded, but that may take some coordination. I can't see this being unbalanced in any way. I know there's probably better ways to rework him, but this should be by far the best way on a basic level to bring him up to his needs, and increase his skill ceiling.
