So im diamond 4 solo queing i get matched with a plat 4 and gold 3? As my teammates so i already know its chalked. We land mills insta rolled by number 3 pred and 400 and 380 pred? Erm hello respawn ...

@UncheerfuIl Were they together? You get the plat because he is within 1 rank level and then his gold friend because he is in his lobby.
Either that or the lobbies are not full enough. They have been feeding plats and golds to preds due to this. The ranked changes are turning out to be so good for the game. 🤣

I was a Diamond IV. I got to Gold IV this season after a few weeks and saw the writing on the wall, so quit ranked for now.
But I do remember the climb and all sorts of insane, wide ranging team mates being queued up with me. And that was before the ranked population drop. With less players, as far as I can tell, it must be worse now.
The thing is, you're asking for a mode that does have to find you team mates eventually. And there is a queue time people are willing to put up with, beyond that they also stop playing. Overwatch, the faceplant ranked game, presumed once they told people they can only have 2 of a certain class on each team, saw queue times for their 'attack' class rank in at double or triple the wait time. It should be no surprise that they experienced a massive drop off of players at that point (and frankly for other reasons too). Trying to force players to play 'fair' games or wait or be penalized comes with the downside of hey...maybe people just stop playing your game.
