@GopnikGamburgerJust because 1 team who is not even in the top 10 of teams in any tournament leaves does not mean others will follow.
In my own opinion their apex team just was not enough most likely to keep pushing forward. Their placements were always a little rough some in the top 20's. So closing down nrg for apex kind of makes sense from a business standpoint.
Hard to blame EA when its the players who failed the team not the game.

EA absolutely deserves the blame. Now, NRG was a pop culture team but Apex has been a bad game for awhile, so if anything, blame NRG for taking too long to quit.
Downfall is too strong a word to use, more like long time, years ago now, descent into mediocrity, and then badness. What is good about Apex is certainly not worthy of an esport, and that is what is worth noting. What is good about Apex is that it is a free and not worth a dollar trick, for personal and casual play, and for laughs not to take seriously. Also, for some misbegotten fools to throw money into so the rest of us can play off their backs, they should throw away more money so I can play for nothing.
Apex has been too terrible for too long to fix any attempt to make it some sort of competitive game. A battle royal should never be but this one certainly does not cut it among even other BR formats. Enjoy it for the art and story that don't help the gameplay at all, the cool gun sounds, and watching your two team mates quit while you solo to final 4 in ranked. That is what Apex is good for.
- 2 years ago@E9ine_AC You even trying to blame this on the players is hilarious… yea their team did not perform well once… but had nothing to do with departing as an org from the game… if the org was interested in staying they would’ve picked up a new lineup… they also weren’t the first big org that left…

@BallisticMVPCorrect but I do say the players and the coach all were at fault and some game issues also im sure but there is more to losing than blaming the game. The strategy was not there they did their own thing and a lot of the times it would cost them. There really is no one else to blame. If it was the game we would not see top teams always winning. They have great coaches and great players.
I will never say NRG is horrible. Sweets is awesome and so humble. But, just looking at the facts it was a better business choice to dissolve the apex side of nrg. This is not the only org over the years to pull their apex team for not having a solid apex team.- 2 years ago
@E9ine_ACIm not blaming them losing on the game but I blame nrg leaving on apex/ea
One bad tournament doesnt make an org leave… i mean cmon they got second split one.
There were issues on the roster gild gave great inside in one of his streams what the issues were, that doesn’t make a fan favorite big org drop their whole roster and leave. NRG doesn’t see a big future for apex that’s why they left…
