@Marge010Halo seems to be a big deal recently for FPS games. BF2042 and COD vanguard also released with mixed reactions. As for me, I just bought Pokemon Brilliant Diamond. I was about to buy GTA Triology Definitive Edition for both the Ps5 and the Switch but it’s a buggy and lazy “remaster”. 😅
- CCbathwater4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Cheese9Man Well, can you blame Rockstar? They're probably tired of spending like 8 years making a near-perfect game like Red Dead 2, just to see how a game with 117 bugs that no one fixes after almost three years making billions, and thought they wanted in on some of that action too.
if it is a break from FPS in general you want I would suggest Valheim. It is not expensive, takes like 10 minutes to install. It has been nominated for best new Indie game of the year.
I'm enjoying Storm Point as snipers are viable again. No better feeling than blowing someone's head off from 300M while they are couching and looting death box.
- @Marge010 Luckily, I'm still enjoying Apex. That being said, I have only played 2 total matches since Halo dropped last Monday. I'm 30+ and have been playing since CE launched, so Infinite is a breath of fresh air!! I absolutely love it already!!
Jurassic World Evolution 1 or 2 are great games. 2 just released, and I've been having a blast!
Farming Simulator is a super fun and relaxing game. I've passed many a day, simply farming
There's a free BR game that is hilarious to play, called Realm Royale, which I have fun playing from time to time. It is VERY different from Apex. When you get knocked, you turn into a little chicken and can run around and try to evade the person that knocked you. If you survive long enough, you turn back to normal and can carry on. It is friggin HILARIOUS!!!
Assassin's Creed is also a fantastic franchise, and Splitgate is fun (but I haven't touched it since Halo dropped, Lol)
Hopefully you can benefit from a break from Apex, and can get back to having fun on here!! I play many games on a daily basis, so I never really get tired of one game. I have gotten burned out on CoD over the years, but that's about the only game I just wont touch these days. There's a lot of fun stuff out there, which aren't BR games @EdwardDLuffyYep!! I have never really been a sniper on Apex (or other games for that matter), but I have been working on my sniping on Storm Point, and I'm definitely improving. Great map for long range engagements. I just wish I could finish my long range knocks more easily. Any advice from the sniper mains on here?
@CCbathwater GTA V is still one of my most frequently played games, and I've been playing since launch. Rockstar did it RIGHT with that one! There's really no need to release a new title every few years, for a game like that (multiplayer specifically). They release so much new content, even to this day, so it has stayed engaging and entertaining for me. You make a really good point though haha!! I was really wanting to get the Trilogy (mostly for San Andreas, honestly), but I've seen a lot of people talking about issues, so I'm holding off for now. I wonder if all the old cheat codes still work? I miss my Hydra/Jetpack shenanigans
- @dSKyNafinchin I saw people complaining that the BP in Halo is hard to finish since it requires you to do challenges to progress. But isn’t that just like apex? If there’s an xbox exclusive game that I’m really jealous of, it’s Forza Horizon. That game looks so good and it’s the arcade racer I need right now. I need to save up for a gaming pc and stop being an apple sheep. Lol.
- @Asmodeus566 Just looked at that when you mentioned it, and it looks DOPE!! Hopefully they'll port to console in the future, as it looks like it's just on Steam right now? My gf is an anthropology major and loves studying Viking culture, so she'll probably like it too. I'll keep my eye on it for console. Good call!
- @Cheese9Man Haha yea, it works basically like Apex, but it's never been like that in Halo games, so people are complaining. 343 already tweaked the challenges during week 1, to ease up on BP progression though. I gained several levels during my session last night. Anyone coming from Apex will have no issues with it though. As an old school Halo player, and an Apex player, it's fine by me!
I haven't played Forza since.... I can't remember! I've always been a Grand Turismo fanboy, to be honest. Love those games. I did play the Forza that was the Fast & Furious release. Like you though, I need to just start saving up for a gaming PC. I started gaming on PC way back in the day, but have been on console since original Xbox/Halo released. I hate being hindered by controllers!! I will never play another FPS game on controller, once I have a gaming rig. Not gonna derail this thread, but I'm sure you can tell what I'm getting at XD Valheim is great. Currently it is still an incomplete game (not finished) but it feels and plays as if it is complete in many ways.
In the first month I think it sold over 5 mil copies and is up to about 8 or 9 mil now. Was also nominated for best multiplayer game also.
would be great if they could get it over to console also.
I have over 100 hrs logged in it and play it for a couple of hrs a week for a break from the high adrenalin of Apex.
Hope you GF finds it interesting.
