Heirlooms
So i have a question i spent around 400 pounds to get the wraith heirloom but instead i got the pathfinders one, so i have a question is there a possibility to exchange the pathfinders one for wraith...
@chrisragnar It's not really a rip off, its meant to be extremely rare,if people choose to spend that much much money on the opportunity to receive a heirloom items that's entirely their own decision.
@MandatoryIDtagI really dont see why anyone would defend this unless they were the one making all the cash, but sure. So you want the skin because its rare? And its rare because its unreasonably priced. So if it was avalible for 5 dollars flat in a normal store, no one would want it?
I just dont see how this is better. I imagin a regular store where you can buy what you want, like Planetside 2. Would incentivise devs to make more nice coametics, and more diverse. Instead of being incentivised to make tons of cosmetics no one wants, just to make what people want more rare.
@chrisragnar @apostolateofDOOM The bottom line is that the rarity and price of heirlooms is what it is, and that's not going to change anytime in the near future. It's not that i'm defending it as such, I just accept that a "Rip off" is purely a matter of perspective.
I aint saying you guys are wrong i just see no point in complaining about respawns prices..look where that got us with the follow up events to the iron crown event. I probably could've conveyed this better in my initial post lol.
Can someone give me a headsup on what an Heirloom is and how to get one??
Is it a weapon charm??
it is a ripoff and an exploitation of stupid, weak and impulsive people/whales.
@ALLGREY001 Well i appreciate the insults you've just fired my way, as all you've actually managed to do is shine a spotlight on your own ignorance.
Had it not occurred to you that some of us have enough excess cash that we can afford to buy these heirlooms without any financial concern?
If you don't agree with the prices that's fine don't purchase content, but demeaning others just because they're willing to is pretty ridiculous frankly.
@MandatoryIDtagI am not trying to offend thats your own fault. I am just telling the truth. Thats clearly the marketed target audience for these type of things. Do some research on whales and relieve your own ignorance rather than be defensive all the time and not self aware.
@ALLGREY001 You don't need to insult to get your argument across, especially when you're partially wrong.
While the Apex model does target whales that doesn't make them ''stupid, weak or impulsive'' because as @Jimmahwd stated, some people have enough money to burn and paying £50/60 for a new game to get 80hrs enjoyment when many players have had many hundreds if not thousands of hrs in Apex then throwing a couple hundred bucks Respawns way isn't entirely unreasonable. Especially when that portion of the player base is effectively paying for everyone else to enjoy it for free.
My issues are three things mainly,
1, The ONLY way you could get wraiths kunai was through ''surprise mechanics'' loot boxes whatever you want to call it, it's still gambling.
2, Paywall structure. To purchase loads of rubbish to get the one item you want is ridiculous.
3, The game is a ESRB rating: Teen. Which affectively allows minors and vulnerable people to gamble as the only option to purchase said cosmetics. Which is wrong. Period.
That is why laws in several countries are changing to face this reality.
If this was rated 18+ my view would be totally different.
Now both of you play nice!
@apostolateofDOOM No need to play nice, i blocked him lol. Pretty sure if it was in reverse and i was calling non paying players freeloading scrubs(not my opinion just an example) he wouldn't have appreciated it.
I do agree that the fact that wraiths heirloom is purely dependent on surprise mechanics is BS though, especially with the ever increasing pool of possible heirlooms. You've got something ridiculous like a 0.25% of actually getting at the moment i think? Which will only get worse with each progressive event.
