Help me choose a new loadout

I get very cynical about "choices" like which weapon to look for and which to ignore. They're all seemingly built around a flaw or series of flaws that make them both uninspiring and unreliable. Not, though, if you watch the streams, where players choose their weapon based on the fastest ttk, because why wouldn't you do that when you have 97% accuracy? A gun that to you and I kicks like a mule, appears in the hands of a streamer or pro to be self-aiming. "That's practice," "That's time in the firing range," "That's natural ability." Say whatever you want. I don't care if they're good or cheating. I care that a normal player can't tell the difference between the two, and I care that no amount of practice makes any difference to me personally. That's a game with too many cheaters, or that's a game with a skill-gap that's too wide. Or the later contributes to the former and you end up with a snake that keeps eating its own tail until the game just completely unravels.

- @reconzero See this is a big factor huh. I'm trying to look at like ttk and damage stats and try to work out what. Based on my experience would be a better shout. (Cause we know our own weak/strength with weapons). Interestingly hemlok and volt had decent damage stats as well as other things, both of which I had a leaning towards.
I'm like you though... I hate in a match I'll be presented with a Hemlok, a G7 and a 3030, maybe even an smg... and I'll be like... but which?! And I think I want to "know" so I can be more decisive in those situations and just know my preferences.
Sometimes I'll judge it on... let's say I pick up a level 3 energy mag, I have a g7 no attach and there's a volt. I'll go volt.
Or I may have a 3030 but not seen a x3 scope. I'll swap out.
But this does mean sometimes I waste space carrying attachs for weapons I might not bother switching to... so it's good to know if I'm definitely looking to switch.
Another annoying thing is you may have like 2 good games killing it with xyz weapon so think "this is my one" then it just stops working for you.This all being said...
I've started really enjoying the p2020 and having good success with it at drop.
Trying it out in later stages.
Curious as I never used to consider myself a single shot guy. But I seem to do alright (and find fun) with pistols in games.
As well as enjoying single shot on the Hemmy.

That was my original favourite gun. (Used to team with a G7 and do good).
- @1ronKeys TTK isn't everything. Versatility and damage per clip matter too. The 301 up close has a lot of bloom now hip firing and with the limited bullets I just don't feel it is very good. You pretty much have to have a purple mag. A flatty tho does a good amount more damage per mag and is more accurate with hip fire. This is why I prefer it.
@hayhoryou can one clip anyone from 25 to 50 meters with R301 and bruiser due to its balance and how easy to control the recoil but you need an extended mag that's the only issue with it .
as you said it's great for close quarters as well

This a thousand times. And the thing you'll never, ever know is: Did the weapon stop working because I was coming up against weapons which are the paper to my rock, or because sbmm suddenly dropped me in a diamond lobby, or because a butterfly flapped its wings in the amazon. You'll just never know. Infuriating. It's why, apart from the old charge rifle or the current triple take, I defy anyone to show me a gun in this game that behaves the same way consistently, match after match.
And also: a good point about letting attachments drive your choice. I'm not entirely convinced that attachments, apart from scopes, really matter, but, like an idiot, I sure do get a warm fuzzy feeling when I find a good one.- @reconzero I find it's pretty easy to tell when MM changes. Player movement changes drastically as does their choice of guns. Better players gravitate towards the meta and never stand still.
