How Are You Celebrating National Video Games Day?

Did you know that the first video game was released more than six decades ago? Mind-blowing isn't it? 🤯 On our side, we have an extensive and fascinating history that extends over 40 years. There are so many memories, stories, and anecdotes that we wouldn't mean anything without our community. So, what better way to celebrate National Video Games Day than being here with you folks…

For all of us here, video games are much more than simply entertainment; they connect us with friends and family, teach us lessons, inspire us to develop our creativity, challenge us to learn new abilities/skills, and show the value of working together as a team. There is always a game for everyone, no matter their age, culture, or style; it has become a way of life for many of us (tell me about it 😅). So what is the best moment/time you've had playing Apex Legends? How are you going to celebrate the National Video Games Day on September 12th? Do you have anything special planned? Is there a match that you've saved just for the occasion?

Whether in company or solo, I think it's always a good time to celebrate… For me, as soon as my shift is finished, I will join my two best buddies to play a few special sessions of Apex as I'm almost getting to Plat, so hopefully, by then, I'll start grinding to Diamond. I am sure it'll be epic…

@EA_Mari Honestly didn't know this was even a thing, Lol! I'll just be doing my normal, after I get home from work. Hit up Apex and Forza Horizon 5 to knock out my dailies quick, and then jumping into Starfield, with a little cooldown on LoZ: Skyward Sword at the end of the evening (played BotW and am near 100% on TotK, so now I'm going back to re-enjoy older Zelda games)

EA Texas Holdem poker on the Nokia in the 00's
Zombie shoot em ups on the Sony in the 10's
Now it's Apex and Fortnite

For me, there's definitely going to be a heaping dose of Mixtape later on, with maybe a few ranked matches if my usual crew hops on.

Then more Starfield is absolutely on the list right now as well, the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy isn't going to build or fly itself. 😉

@EA_Mako Mixtape is where it's at these days, for me. I would play more BR, but my buddies are rarely on Apex anymore, and it's usually only 1 of them, so ranked is usually out of the question for me. I'm not patient enough for the ranked solo grind, Lol!

I can easily hop on and enjoy a few Mixtape games though. Knock out daily challenges and progress/complete some weeklies. Usually warm up in a duos match, so I can get my treasure pack, but then jump into Mixtape. Even the 10k and 15k damage challenges are doable in 4-6 matches of TDM/Control, so it makes the challenges pretty easy to progress on.

I haven't even touched the ship-building yet, but I need to! I still just have the Frontier, and ended up getting the (spoiler alert?) Mantis last night, which is pretty nifty. I've seen some crazy custom ships already though!

I spent way too long just getting my custom ship functional, forget looking super sleek. Much respect for those custom builds that actually look great as well. 👍

You get out of it what you put in, which is really nice for those that like to get super-involved with the shipbuilding, and allows the rest of us to just enjoy their accomplishments haha.

That duos + Mixtape format is the way to go for me as well. Warm up with those and graduate to ranked after a while if I'm feeling sufficiently on point for the day.

@Asmodeus566 I have the coral buddies backpack in fortnite, and they do a lovely sing "song" when I get a kill. That's enough barding for me 🥳😃

has anyone tried celebrating with in-game challenges among friends or running custom matches to make it more fun? I usually team up with a couple of buddies and set silly goals like only using certain weapons or legends. Keeps things fresh—curious what quirky traditions others have started.
