Should be played with a controller or keyboard and mouse. Ba doooomch!
This is a controversial topic lol. People have strong opinions on this. IMO, you can't play overly aggressive, and you can't play too passive. You basically have to navigate through the map depending on where the circle ends and you need position, take fights when you need to, but also avoid fights when it's not in your favor. You are given more advantages as a superior skilled team, in terms of gun and movement skills, since you are more likely to be able to level up your evo shields faster, you will get more supplies and attachments from defeating other teams, and you will be ready and warmed up. You just have to make the right decisions as the circle moves. If you're passive, you could have the element of surprise by positioning and 3rd partying while other teams are fighting. But if you're too passive, you will be cold compared to the teams that have been fighting and you won't be as kitted as the teams that had fought several other teams by the time they got to the final circle.
Nobody can deny it, the game has become very competitive and it is pushing out the casuals or upsetting them. Also, fun can be defined in many different ways. People can have fun playing competitively.

Definitely agree with this. Can’t even imagine new players going into this game anymore.
- 3 years ago@Cheese9Man I think social media has a lot to do with this. I remember as a kid going over to a friend's house and playing video games and no one cared who was better. These days being the best at everything in every game is all we are exposed to.

@swift07BR is a competitive format by design. Only 1 team in 20 can win. Whether or not you lean into that fully or just play for the memes is up to you. It's all in your attitude.
The horrific SBMM is what makes it brutal for noobs and lesser skilled players. How much fun is getting melted in milliseconds then first time you run into anyone not a noob? You spend too much time in the lobby and queueing up instead of playing. When most of your time in a First Person Shooter is doing everything else except shooting, that sucks!
Playing casually where you just goof off with some friends isn't really a fit for Apex BR either. You really need continuous respawning games like Battlefield for that so you just jump back in quickly. Control LTM is better for that though.- 3 years ago@HappyHourSumwur I don't have a problem with a game being competitive, since I am a very competitive person. Only thing that bothers me is getting noob teammates and then having to fight a 3 stack that are still playing super sweaty, when it's only me. But I feel for the casuals who don't want to sweat every time they get on the game.
