@0xznn Honestly she is going to be a difficult legend to learn how to play effectively now. With wraith is completely about movement and advanced movement. You have to spam crouch and strafe. You have to use her tactical to get in and out of sticky situations. Learning how to time the tactical takes a ton of practice. I'm sure you can find some good videos on youtube about how to play her and how to get some advanced movement going.
The only time I die to wraiths are when their movement is just simply better than what I can track/aim at. I end up missing a bunch of shots and it's enough for the wraith player to close the gap between us.
If you want to get better at the game, movement is absolutely key to improving your game. Running around as Gibi or Caustic and just using brute force works to some degree, but in the high skill lobbies it is 100% about movement, positioning and knowing when to pull back from a fight.
The enemies I struggle with the most have the best movement.
What platform are you on? What time zone are you in? I might play some rounds with you and try to help you get that 8th win. - E9ine_AC5 years agoHero+@0xznn there are just so many factors here that can be given to you. Main thing is understanding the abilities to the fullest. This is assuming you are new one her.
So while some can phase-out of a fight it also can help you avoid thermites and other grenades. It also can help you escape from ults being launched. Then it can become a offensive strategy ability where you phase-out into a fight by repositioning yourself higher or behind an enemy.
Your portal serves many purposes. One being allowing your tacticle to be instant cast. The phase-out ability. This will help with better escapes as it can allow you to do so instantly skipping the hand animation. Also dont use either abilitity while climbing walls or up cliffs as it will cancel both trying to climb with them being activated.
Now comes the fun part. Your wraith portal. On one hand you can help get teammates out of trouble. Another it can set a trap. So if your team is knocked and you see you can portal to them to get them out of gunfire to res this is best to use it for. But the real fun comes in when you kidnap people. This can be done by running into a team popping the portal dead in front of them then punching them into it from behind. This will allow your team to easily light them up as they are waiting for them to come through. Another thing is drop them off the map. Your portal can be set on ledges where once a enemy team goes through it you get to watch them fall right off the map with a easy kill.
Wraith is a very aggressive legend. She should always be pressing that W key and slamming balls to the walls. As a passive character it really loses with potential she could really have. When comes to wins it all boils down to play style. Can either rate for final team or can be aggressive and kill the map quicker and such. All boils down to ones play style. Not a top tier Wraith here but I play her from time to time. Any old guides on her I would ignore because she's so changed from how she first worked out. Well, portal advice is pretty okay maybe but phasing...it's a whole different thing.
Wraith suffers from being over chosen, basically according to Respawn, so she's been suprah nerfoloed. With phase, you now have to really anticipate using it, you can't 'eject' with it so much from a tight situation, more often you're better shooting and hoping your low profile carries the day. Having said that, the more practice you get, the more you're going to know when to phase in all situations.
I've found since you can be tracked when you phase away, it also helps a lot less running if you are being hunted. You need to appear away in cover more, or move from cover to cover so your ridiculous sort of little ghost thing can't be followed so closely. Also get used to putting your weapon away a lot when you do run because, well, weapon out - slow speed.
Wraith is usually, to me, first person to get good armor on a team, because she's so delicate. Or uh, well, you could make yourself last hoping you don't get hit, but I don't like that. Nab the good armor first, make sure when you hit and run you have lots of little shield batteries...which are way more important than health but especially for wraith. The old advice for her is to carry shotguns but I'd toss that now because shotguns can't carry it anymore. The totally borked R-99 is a great choice for her if you can learn to shoot well, and I'd carry also something even longer range for her, like an R-301 with a 3x scope.
- DarthValtrex5 years agoHero (Retired)@KelRiever I some what agree on her tactical but it can still be used to make an exit. You just have to be extremely aware of your surroundings and cover. Once you hit the tactical everything you do must go into movement and buying time to go into it.
You can still make some decent escapes with it but it's not a get out of jail free card anymore. It also helps to have decent teammates who can provide cover fire for you and cover for you as you pop a cell/battery.
She is a difficult legend to play now but she's a good legend still. @0xznn become a bullet sponge for your team on the initial attack, make sure of your hits with spitfire and lstar, both with 2hcog 😃
If you can hear them, but can't see them, chuck in a grenade (Hardcore Henry) 🙌
- @DarthValtrex I dont think wraith is difficult to play. You just have to get used to the void view. Your still tiny and hard to hit.
For me her shortness is the hardest thing to get used to.
OP- just keep playing her and you will get there.
