How good is EAC?

I cannot say it is completely trash because it did improve the game from absolutely unplayable (cheaters 10 out of 10 games) to merely playable (cheaters 9 out of 10 games). It successfully eliminated speed hack, but other than that it did nothing. It's a toy in front of hackers. I believe that it only detect cheats base on signatures and memory protection. No machine learning, no statistic analysis, no nothing, it's just a god damn dictionary. I am not sure whether the HWID ban is working, but as there still so many out there I believe people can bypass it already.

Pretty much. Cheats that the dev team at EAC are able to acquire are added to a database. If a cheat isn't in there then EAC has no capacity to recognize it.

As far as the effectiveness of HWID bans, they're highly impotent. Certain prominent cheaters which I won't name or link due to EA/forum policy have demonstrably proven it. Receiving a HWID ban on livestream, using some program, and then immediately logging back into the game with the exact same account which was just banned. To a small degree it considers heuristics such as your performance comparative to your past matches.

If you've been playing normally then decide 'I'm gonna cheat to win now' and your headshot/kill/win ratios spike past your average without declining then EAC will auto-ban you... but... people that started out cheating don't have this issue because as far as EAC is concerned this is normal stats for the account.

In short, EAC and their devs are absolutely helpless unless they're spoon-fed and even then it's a struggle for them.

EAC is actually the worst, but the cheapest of all anticheat softwares.

Others do a lot better job, but you allways need atleast 2 with different methods the be able to catch "most" (never all) cheaters.

1 that is proactive like "battleye" which scans for and blocks injections.

1 that tracks for behavior patterns, statistic and compares them to all the other players like "fairfight" does (needs some time to learn before it starts banning, but gets better day by day).

The most interesting thing is, respawn already uses Fairfight for Titanfall... i don´t get it why they didn´t use it here and add battleye to it to be more effective.
