ShivFPS is basically bouncing from D3 to P1 over and over. Yes, he is still playing very aggressively but my god the scoring system is broken if someone with his ability is just bouncing around. He kills 10 people early on and the squatters benefit for their "skilled" rotation while he gets nothing.
Maybe its a bit too harsh to rank up but the game is a BR not a deathmatch. Getting to end game and winning takes skill especially at higher ranks. Does aim/mechanics matter in this game as far as rank goes. Of course. However what also takes skill is solid teamwork, communication, looting, gun selection, rotations into zone, pushing certain fights or playing slow in other situations. Knowing your characters abilities and what team comps to run, what loot to pick up depending on your bag size.. do you take nades or more ammo, more batt, knowing when to stick a res or to play the fight. Players like Hal do pretty much all of these things well which is why he and other pro level players do so well. Shiv is very good at this game and if he 3 stacked he probably could hit master/pred but he is a streamer first and does an excellent job especially solo queing with randoms. But if you compare someone like Shiv to Hal or Sweet they are on a different level.
@Persistance55Maybe he could get there? No he definately would get there easily. Hal only runs a 3 stack in ranked because he knows how awful it would be solo. In a 1v1 I'd take Shiv over sweet and hal any day.
At this point I can't watch most ranked streamers anymore. Its so boring to watch them loot for 10 minutes, rotate to final zone and wait. Shiv is still fighting tho so I'll continue watching him.
If you think Shiv is better than Hal or Sweet you are mistaken. You can say all you want about these 2 that they cry/complain about their teammates messing up. Which I wouldn't argue against. But when the are playing for money which the tournments are for...

Look at the number 1 player by earnings.. it is Hal. Do you think these other streamers wouldn't try for the money if they couldn't? Ask yourself that honestly. If you don't see how good these pros are you are just blind and or maybe you don't like them as streamers. Which is fine but if you offered shiv 200k to play in tournaments do you really think he would be like "no I already know im a good player and dont need to prove myself" Hal and Reps are at the top for a reason. It isn't luck.
@Persistance55I said a 1v1 fight. Team earnings don't show who does that best. And there are lots of streamers who make plenty of money without the need to cash in competitively. It's why some successful ones simply stop playing.
I mean if we are going by who makes more from Apex Nick mercs gets more from just streaming than Hal does from tournaments. That doesn't make him better than Hal.
That list shows exactly why a lot of top players don't play competitively. 191k in 3 years of comp? That's awful really. Nick makes 100k+ a month just from twitch streaming.
It gets very hard in Platinum because from what Ive seen there it was full of S12 Master/TOP750 pre-made teams (Ive got myself there solo.).
You cant really beat pre-made with randoms because all of their firepower is mostly focused on one player so you peak - you KO.
You would have to talk to them and hope that they will listen.
I instantly switched to TRIOS. :D
Guess its same hard in Platinum S13 as it was in Masters S12.
