How is 'Champion' determined!??I finished a game with 2200 damage, more kills and the final kill over my LL team mate(who died by the way, he had around 1200 dmg and less kills) but it made him champion the next game.....WTH? He said it was because he revived me 3 times.....CAN THE DEVS MAKE AN OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT ON HOW IT WORKS!?

I have been champion many times. For the most part from what I noticed is as follows.It has very little to do with kills. It has nothing to do with your career stats.Out of the total 60 players the player who had the best standing from their previous game will be the champion.I can win a game, then log off for the night and when I log back in in the morning will most likely be the champion.I have been champion for placing 2nd a few times and once even for placing 3rd with no kills.When you play with a team and win the champion who had the best overall score on your team is picked.1) It's not about total kills, it's about total score.2) Kills+ revives + respawns + damage and so on.EDITEDThat lifeline won it because she healed with her robot and dropped a lot of care packages. Doing such things add to total points.Traveled distance might even be a factor as well as weapon accuracy.

Funny story, was in a game where I had 9 kills iirc and was the kill leader as well,we fought our way to the very end before getting third partied and killed and lost that match of course, but the next game had ME as the CHAMPION like damn, the Octane on that team was being a * by teabagging my deathbox but did they deserve to have their champion status revoked lol, either way it was weird but atleast my efforts didn't go unnoticed :D

It's whoever, out of the 60 or so players, finished highest in their previous game.if there's a tie, it's whoever gained the most XP out of those tied.

@yajusdead It is funny sometimes. 1 time I finished 2nd with maybe 1 kill & I was champ. I was like damn this lobby must suck lol!

I wonder this one too...how the champion squad get selected? Best of all 60 , based on what category/criteria?

@Zkepz Me too. If none of the 60 players in the new game won the previous one, then it can quite easily get down to second or third place. When the champion is announced and it is not you, you have no idea how their fared in their previous game.

When you hit 'Ready' you are thrown into a pool of 200-300 players, all in the same match-matching queue. Only around 5% of those will have won their previous game. it is quite likely that of the 59ish players you get pooled with, none of them won their previous game.

@Owolf_Luftwolf If there isn't someone in the lobby that won previous to that match....and someone who won arenas is present in the lobby...that person will revert always to champion.

I played a match with my son once where we had won. He had almost 3 times the damage I had. He also revived me 2 or three times....basically did everything that match and carried my sorry A**. However I had more kills, because he was shredding everyone with a Triple Take and I would finish them off with a couple bullets to get the knock. Next match I was champion. This has happened every time without fail - meaning...who ever had the most kills was labeled champion over any other stat.
So 10 kills with 600 damage V.S. 9 kills with 4000 damage - the 10 kill person gets the title.
At least in every scenario we have ever had in this regard.

@hayhor I think it's a comprehensive of stats. So revives & respawns given are also probably figured into that. And I'm sure assists.

The easiest way I have found to get the champion bonus XP is when you win a game of Arenas, queue up for BR. You will be the champion, as you were "top ranked" last match.
I do that a lot for the bonus XP.
