I don't think that there is an option in Apex Legends to view your ping while in game and playing.
You can only see your ping when choosing a preferred data centre from the data centre menu in the title screen.
This is a video tutorial of how to do that on Xbox but the principle is the same for PlayStation and PC.

Hey @Hashield if you are having issues with connection in game then I would suggest taking a look at our Connection troubleshooting steps which you can find here: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/connection-troubleshooting-basic/
They should help you improve your connection.

That's possible if they were using a 3rd party program. The game itself doesn't show your ping unless you're in the data centre menu.
I don't use any 3rd party software as I believe it could be some kind of a risk.
