How to play as solo?

Hello,

im new to the game. Im solo queuing player. So far my experience has been abysmal. Bloody love fights and all the great mechanics. Issue are team mates.

Each session goes like this: I go into 6-7 games where we land and die or people just disconnect, land somewhere else etc. Then 1 game where i land few kills, few hundred damage. I have no problem dealing over 1k dmg. All that is needed are team mates that dont suicide.

Im super average but there is no such thing in this game. Either gods that smoke you in milisecond or people who just go alone into room with entire team in it. If you are not a god then you have no chance fighting team of 3 people, even if they are noobs. You have to burn 30 minutes just to get one decent team and its annoying.

Is this how every average solo player play this game? Land-die repeat until you find good team?

No.  He means as in actually selecting your legend in the selection screen rather than letting it just roll over.  If team mate #3 lets it just roll over instead of actively picking by clicking on it, then jump master will revert to the middle player, then if they in turn also didn't actively select, it then goes to team mate #1.

@pandareno1999  I wondered about that. Sometimes someone else gets JM than on the legend select screen. Hmmm... that's why I'm always JM when someone steals my main, which I usually just let roll over.

You already know, and everyone here has confirmed, this is the life of the solo queue player. I'm sure it's probably the same in ranked as in pubs, though someone else would be better to comment on that.

One thing no one has talked about is the mic. Comms are critical if you want your teammates to know what you're thinking and to understand what you're doing and why, why you're refusing to hot drop with them, why you're going where you're going and what your end-game is. And it doesn't have to be a two-way street. Talk to them even if they can't talk back. Most of them aren't muting reflexively and you'll know right away if they can hear you. They'll be a lot more amenable to suggestion from a mic than from just a ping or two. Coaching squadmates is tougher. On the rare occasions when I mic up anymore, I try to coach without coaching, if you know what I mean. People get resentful, even when your banner clearly explains that you have some idea of what you're doing and there's says much less. In the end I feel like I can really help my teammates a lot with good advice, and not very much with bullets. That makes many of them frustrated, but if they stick it out to the end they're often surprised by the results. Food for thought.

@Zoltan1251 I was referring to what @pandareno1999 mentioned, regarding selecting my Legend. Jump master goes to the last player that chooses their Legend, unless that person lets it "auto-select", which then kicks it to the next person. I almost always click on my Legend to select him, instead of letting it automatically select for me, so that I usually end up being jump master, which helps avoid terrible drops by randoms, Lol!
  • I thought that everyone is choosing their legend. I never just let it run out. Anyway, i play Bloodhound if its not taken. Simply because having more awereness than my team is crucial not to get crushed. Sometimes i play Octane, because i can quicky get out of situation. Im have only main legends and Octane so thats that.
