How would YOU change Public Matchmaking?
And more importantly, tell me how this would affect the experience of: lower skilled players, average skilled players, and high skilled players.

@Axs5626Sxa5001 I just wish that SBMM worked more efficiently. I should only be matched with people within a certain plus/minus of my stat line (whatever stats the game factors for matchmaking), and that's it. Of course I want to play with people a little better than me, so that I can get better myself. I just get tired of seeing who I am going against or paired up with (pred/master teams. I'm MAYBE a Plat IV tier player?). My favorite matches have been close, competitive ones. Getting trounced or trouncing a bunch of lower level/skill players just isn't fun for me. I'm no IT person, so I've no idea how to tweak the system, and won't even pretend to. Also, I know this complaint has been driven into the dirt, but it's literally my only complaint, as far as matchmaking is concerned.
I enjoy the well-filled lobbies of similar skilled players. Those matches are fun. Win or lose, they are fun. Competition is fun. The problem is, that those matches are so few and far between. Heck, I always feel bad when I see myself paired with someone that's clearly much better than me. I don't want to drag people down.
TL:DR same old complaint about balance. I'm bad, and shouldn't be in lobbies with high tier players. 20 bomb badge? Shouldn't be in my lobby (my highest is 9 kills). 4k badge? Shouldn't be in my lobby (my highest was one lone match just above 2,500 dmg). I'm no where near that skill level, Lmao

I know plenty of lower tier players that have an overall better time exclusively playing ranked. YES you will encounter smurfs, but they are actually far less smurfs in a low tier lobby than preds in your average pub I bet.
I have said this for years— those who really want to minimize the chances of seeing stronger players should play the mode with the most efficient SBMM. Ranked SBMM is far from perfect but it’s definitely better than what you’re seeing in pubs.

@Axs5626Sxa5001I spent seasons 0-5 or so, pretty much playing ranked. I got tired of how sweaty the Plat IV lobbies get, and just don't have the patience to solo-queue through that. I've been pretty much playing pubs since then.
I've been reset back down to bottom tier bronze now, after however many seasons. I've been dipping back in to ranked this season a little bit, and you're absolutely right, I am having much better luck. Not so much with my own team mates, but I'm at least not going against pred/master players, which is nice! I've noticed that most of the featured champion squads in my ranked lobbies, have stats that are fairly in line with my own (the ones they are tracking, at least). I'll probably stick more to ranked again this season, but my issue will come right back when I hit Plat again, and then I'll go back to pubs and deal with that mess, Lmao
My main issue, is mostly that the region I am in, is heavily populated. I just don't see why I would get paired up with people that have 20k+ kills on one single legend, when I have around 5,200 kills total from all legends. I miss the old Halo 3 ranking system, using highest skill value. Going for that 50 in SWAT and Dubs was my favorite time of my life, for multiplayer gaming.
Even with the issues on Apex, I still am of the opinion that it is a fantastic game. I don't play it 8+ hours a day to pay the bills, so none of the issues are a deal-breaker for me. I play many games, but Apex is the only BR I mess with. I appreciate the feedback!For anyone to suggest nothing needs changing & things are fine as they are regarding MM is either a Respawn employee or touting for a job at Respawn & gauging by the number of employees who have quit Respawn over the past few weeks or so they might stand a good chance of getting recruited pretty soon.But let's be honest if Respawn can't fix the huge scales of cheating & hacking that is ever prevalent in the game then what hope is there in getting any fix or even an improvement MM pretty much no chance & yet MM is among the top 2 issues a majority of players have with the game.But to rub salt into the wounds there are hackers openly confessing that are assisting other players into boosting their rank levels as shown in an attachment below of youtuber J.Meyels (one of the few youtubers worth listening to when you cut out his plugs & adverts etc) & he does speak to current & former Respawn staff, other youtubers & pro players. As I've mentioned previously I've known a fair amount of former players who have quit game & moved to other games because either the servers were bad but mostly because MM was a joke & getting repeatedly squashed in pretty much every game was no longer fun to play anymore.Even I play the game a lot less know than before what with the inclusion of World's Edge on rotation which I just refuse to play on & the frustrating MM.
