How would YOU change Public Matchmaking?

And more importantly, tell me how this would affect the experience of: lower skilled players, average skilled players, and high skilled players.

  • I do not know. All I know is that it needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. Like I said before, my KD has been 0.6 since I started in season 5. I am lucky to even get 1 or 2 kills. Yet the game thinks I am good enough to take on pred or masters. Literally 6 games out of 10 I am dying to people who have 20 bomb and 4K damage badges. I have not touched BR in about 2 weeks I think. I tried to play it again 2 days ago, but after a couple of games, I just gave up and went back to Arena. BR is literally a waste of time for me.

@Axs5626Sxa5001 Yep. I enjoy the current lobbies as they are. Have only solo queued for the past few seasons and I still find it enjoyable. I like the variation of players I get, it challenges me to adapt to all sorts of situations from carrying noobs to trying to keep up with preds. I prefer this to having the same experience over and over again, by playing with similar players at all times. Also, I don't care much about stats like K/D and damage, worrying too much about them ruins the fun.

I'm aware of my limitations. I'm only at 60 fps and have to play on a rather small desk, off peak times, without being able to use a microphone. Also, I can't play for more than 2-3 hours at a time. My PC is rather old and suffers from performance issues (like ugly input lag), while my connection is not that great. Although my network is stable, the delay varies between 50-80 and I think there's a point in between these values where I lose an entire update's worth (which is like 50 extra ms) and this affects the experience greatly.

There's nothing that can be done on EA/Respawn's side regarding the above and I'm pretty sure a lot of people are having the same issues but don't realize it, as they don't have the technical knowledge, so they naturally blame the developer.

@Cheese9Man I do not think the server thing would really help. It likely does not matter what Tokyo server you pick for a lobby, you still end up pooled with the rest of the players.

The US has many servers as it is large. I pick the closest lobby but can tell from in game ping I end up on other US servers randomly depending on what the MM does.

@Axs5626Sxa5001I spent seasons 0-5 or so, pretty much playing ranked. I got tired of how sweaty the Plat IV lobbies get, and just don't have the patience to solo-queue through that. I've been pretty much playing pubs since then.

I've been reset back down to bottom tier bronze now, after however many seasons. I've been dipping back in to ranked this season a little bit, and you're absolutely right, I am having much better luck. Not so much with my own team mates, but I'm at least not going against pred/master players, which is nice! I've noticed that most of the featured champion squads in my ranked lobbies, have stats that are fairly in line with my own (the ones they are tracking, at least). I'll probably stick more to ranked again this season, but my issue will come right back when I hit Plat again, and then I'll go back to pubs and deal with that mess, Lmao

My main issue, is mostly that the region I am in, is heavily populated. I just don't see why I would get paired up with people that have 20k+ kills on one single legend, when I have around 5,200 kills total from all legends. I miss the old Halo 3 ranking system, using highest skill value. Going for that 50 in SWAT and Dubs was my favorite time of my life, for multiplayer gaming.

Even with the issues on Apex, I still am of the opinion that it is a fantastic game. I don't play it 8+ hours a day to pay the bills, so none of the issues are a deal-breaker for me. I play many games, but Apex is the only BR I mess with. I appreciate the feedback!

For anyone to suggest nothing needs changing & things are fine as they are regarding MM is either a Respawn employee or touting for a job at Respawn & gauging by the number of employees who have quit Respawn over the past few weeks or so they might stand a good chance of getting recruited pretty soon. But let's be honest if Respawn can't fix the huge scales of cheating & hacking that is ever prevalent in the game then what hope is there in getting any fix or even an improvement MM pretty much no chance & yet MM is among the top 2 issues a majority of players have with the game. But to rub salt into the wounds there are hackers openly confessing that are assisting other players into boosting their rank levels as shown in an attachment below  of  youtuber J.Meyels (one of the few youtubers worth listening to when you cut out his plugs & adverts etc) & he does speak to current & former Respawn staff, other youtubers & pro players. As I've mentioned previously I've known a fair amount of former players who have quit game & moved to other games because either the servers were bad but mostly because MM was a joke & getting repeatedly squashed in pretty much every game was no longer fun to play anymore.Even I play the game a lot less know than before what with the inclusion of World's Edge on rotation which I just refuse to play on & the frustrating MM.
