Apex Legends is not my main game. I don't like Battle Royales per se, Apex is the only one I play, but it's more the fun I have with my buddy rather than the gameplay what kept me engaged. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't touch this game with a stick. Those 15hz Noreg severs and crashes are just not something I would accept in any other game. Also, we didn't play every day, only 1-3 hours every other day or so. My buddy's time is short due to wife and kids and he also suffers from frequent crashes and disconnects, yet we still managed to climb pretty consistently. I wasn't playing Apex in Season 2 and 3, so I had quite a lot to catch up when I came back for season 4. My buddy was already diamond last season, so he started with gold and I had to play though the lower ranks alone in order to queue with him (which isn't a big deal, just annoying). I caught up fast, reached Plat 1 without too much trouble and was only ~200 points away from Diamond.
Now this split comes around out of nowhere and I'm back to gold 3. Thank you Respawn! If there was any information about it on Twitter or in some Shill-stream, I simply missed it cause I'm not that much engaged in Apex and I don't have time to consult every outside source of every game I play. If you're planning something like that, why not announce it INSIDE THE GAME?! Maybe 1 or 2 weeks earlier? Like a big window popping up: "WARNING! Season Split incoming in 7 days INCLUDING RANK RESET!" Even my buddy who keeps up with all the latest Apex videos etc. didn't know anything about it. The only thing I saw was the counter in the top right corner, telling me I have like 40 days left. So I thought there's plenty of time left for the 200 points to Diamond and took some days off because I'm sick. Needless to say that my motivation is now back to sub 0.
Your servers are one thing, Respawn, but this rank reset just looks like a bad attempt at holding tryhards hostage in Apex Legends when CoD: Warzone came out. And here is where I draw the line. If you want people to keep playing Apex, upgrade your servers, deliver actual content and don't pull cheeky BS! What a waste of time...
