@shooootagainSerious question: how the hell do you manage with life in general? Did you consider the possibility that the other 2 players might also like Octane, just as much as you do?

You pick whichever hero you want when it is your turn to do so, how is that unfair? Now im not sure if the order is random everytime or based on who connected to the server the fastest but i can assure you, play 10 games and you'll propably be the 1st pick almost half the time. If you still dont get to pick Octane then i guess your copy is broken or sum

EDIT: The legend shown under your name in the character selection screen doesnt mean you're picking him. It just simply identifies which character you have highlighted, either by doing so in the lobby or by having played with said character in previous match, not changing it to someone else before matchmaking.

Everybody has a main they play, but with 9 other characters available, it's about time to get used to using someone else. Auto dying just because you didn't get your character is one of the biggest issues I've seen numerous times or I hear someone complaining about it over the mic. 

First thing, it's best to select the player by hovering over them. If someone else chooses them first or just auto has it set for them, play with another character. Too many get worried about their kills accumulated from one character instead of broadening their skills with various characters. They each have their strengths and combined with others they could be a force not to be reckoned with especially if you have players that work as a team. The moment you opt to fail out or leave right away, you fail the rest of your team. Work as a team, play as a team, win as a team no matter who you are controlling.

So as a precursor - I understand exactly where you are coming from. It can be a little disheartening when you get matched with 2 other people that want to play the legend as you and are ahead in pick order. Sometimes, I really want to play Lifeline, and others Wraith, but like others have said here, just pick someone else.

Throwing a game just because you didn't get to pick the legend you wanted isn't fair to your teammates win rate/KDA or yours for that matter. Some of the others here have a very strong point: that's incredibly immature.

Also just to clarify - even if someone has Wraith pre-selected and they pick before you, they can still take Octane. The pre-select function is only intended to let your teammates know that you would like to play a specific legend. Your squad mates are in no way obligated to let you have that legend. Just as much as you "main" Octane, someone else might too.

I understand wanting to see change implemented in a game that you love. But please consider that this game is not about JUST you. I have absolutely NO issue with people advocating for change to a game/legend/gun/character but there are appropriate and constructive ways to do so. You had a decent idea. The people who replied to your thread lashed out at you because of how you presented it - not because of your idea.
