First sentence yes, but not the last one. There is no disadvantage for him cause if he can't hear footsteps, the others also can't. so an ambush is still possible.
so, did you get it now?

  @II-LAZZARUS-II There are few things:
  1. you experiencing some issues doesn't necessarily mean others experience them too
  2. even if not hearing enemies footsteps affects everyone, being able to hear the opponent is quite important for the ambush cause then you actually know someone is around
  3. his reply supposed to be and WAS just funny, you are taking it too seriously

    @NolanGraysonnnto point 1: if you experience some issues and others not, then you could also said that to your point 2. Cause then it could be fixed for someone and for others not.
    
    to 3: bad joke...cause it makes no sense. Its like: I can't drive with my car cause there is no gasoline in my tank, but I don't wanna drive anyway.
