I still hate Elite
So first ring damage has been toned down a little. Yet, me and my team just got eliminated for a purely arbitrary reason again, it still happens. We dropped Skulltown, won from 2 enemy teams back t...

@Silz616I see it both ways. Yes, the mindless early drop that countless teams end up doing gets old quick. At the same time the elite promotes all teams to cower and avoid gunfights until the last few circles where everyone stocks on arc stars and grenades and essentially die to the storm at their backs. Why is running after gun fire a bad thing in a BR? And why should it be punished? I understand the risk but it shouldn't reflect as a bad play style.
I get both sides to. That's why x2 modes is good. I'm all for gunfights, but a BR by it's definition is survival.
I get that people want to eliminate threats, but actively seeking gunfights is playing TDM ina BR especially if the counter is low and you are close to the ring edge. You shouldn't be picking fights that close that the ring could catch and kill you. That's poor decision making and bad judgement.
All the legends have lines that say "all that matters is to be the last standing" or words to that effect. Team play and survive by any means necessary. How you accomplish that is up to you, but the heavier ring damage means the top bracket of players should be playing like it matters. Not just a gunfight fest.
If I locked you in large location with some tigers and said, survive for 15 minutes. If you kill any it's a bonus. Would you go looking for them to kill them or try to survive and sneak and ambush given the chance?
Casual can play out as TDM, but elite should play like elite BR gameplay. Not just a TDM shooter.
Streamers don't play slow because of viewing figures. If you put all the top guys in one lobby, they would not be running out in the open like Rambo.
I understand everything you said about survival and BR. I'm not referring to play the game like TDM because that's not the case. There are certain situations where I'll take a risk and run towards gun fire because I know i need better gear for later in the match and killing enemies are a great way to achieve this.
The great thing about games is everyone gets to play the way they want to play it. If you want to go Rambo go ahead, if you want to hide in every building and win the match with 1 kill and 50 damage, go ahead. The developers shouldn't change the game design to promote one over the other is what I'm getting at.
Yes, two modes are good and I think this game needs many more IMO. But to change the storm damage just to the elite queue isn't fair. That's the new mode everyone wants to play and improve on with badges and such. Again, to each their own.
