@SxyAlphaBeastNJ wrote:Well just so you know, if you and I played. Got in a gunfight I got 2 kills and you got 1
I died 2 minutes and 30 seconds into the game
You go on to get top 3, 4 more kills and last 20 minutes..
If I quit, I would only get stats for my kills, damage done and lasting 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Since I quit out, I wouldn't get any stats that are related to anything after my quit.
The issue is that if I hot drop, get 2 kills, die then quit. I am still getting stats for those 2 kills.
What we want as leave penalty is; If you leave before your banner time out you shouldn't get those 2 kills or exp for 2m30s survive time. So you are free to leave but you must give up your earnings. Simple and fair. It's not a 100% solution for leavers but atleast some ppl start to playing to win and reduces the number of players who jumps for getting 2-3 kill in first 3 min and leave when they down.
LOL Yes, having a full squad surprise me and then my team looting my box and not respawning me was completely my fault..

@SxyAlphaBeastNJ I rarely leave matches. Earlier today someone was playing loud music over the voice chat. As I opened his profile to report him he began a tirade of expletives and racist slurs despite nobody else in the team speaking or typing anything. So I finished reporting him and ALT + TAB back into Apex, I then muted his voice and text chat and carried on playing. I didn't leave and then blame him for making me leave. I am in control of which matches I leave. It's my decision. And my responsibility.

I think you mistook my point... I take full responsibility for leaving a match. It's my decision, and I stand by it each and every time I do it...
The conversation is WHY I leave.. Not because someone FORCED me or MADE me leave.. I am becoming the model player that RESPAWN and EA wants... I am becoming the type of player they cater too..
When I am matched with a team that demonstrates poor decision making abilities, I see no reason to stay. You hot drop where 15 other teams are and I die, I leave. If our team gets into combat and you run away, I leave. If I have to come running in and save you, then you leave and I die, I leave.
Pretty simple actually... I'm not going to waste my time on a bad team when EA and RESPAWN won't spend their time, which we pay for, in fixing the issue.. An issue THEY created by the way..

@SxyAlphaBeastNJ You haven't given any reasons for leaving yet. So far you have blamed your teammates for your own petulance. Look, if you don't like dropping into hot zones with teammates then just split after launch and go on a loot rampage at the fringes of the map. You seem to be driving yourself mad by playing in a way you don't like. Stop that and take responsibility for your own decisions. 👿
If I don't like what my teammates are doing I don't dwell on what could be or what should be I make a decision and do what I want to do. Funny thing is, a lot of the time they turn around and follow me instead of doing what they were going to do. But if they don't then good luck to them. If they want to make a comment about me not being there when they die I just laugh at the irony of them not being where I am when I'm alive. 😇

Logic is a very funny thing at times.. SO let me just try to understand this better..
IF I was sitting in a bar having a nice refreshing adult beverages and 2 armed men came into rob the place. One of them highly nervous and his gun goes off and I get shot in the right leg... Then the police show up and open fire from the outside shooting in, and I get hit in the left leg... Then the bartender starts throwing sealed bottles at the robbers and I end up getting hit in the skull... What you are saying is it's my fault because I left my house that day, right? lol 👿

@SxyAlphaBeastNJ I have absolutely no idea how you have made that analogy from what I said. But if playing video games is making you stressed, then I would suggest considering a healthier approach to playing them. Including taking frequent breaks or even quitting them for a while. 🤔
- 7 years ago
@warslag on the contrary... Playing this game with a "Team First" mentality and expecting/hoping that my random squad mates would play the same way was stressing me out..
However, since I started quitting I am very relaxed...
Actually surprisingly relaxed given my personal agenda. I am trying to get the "Master Of All" badge.. That means 10 wins with 8 characters (80 wins total). Currently I have 7 of 9 characters done.. Have 7 wins with Octane and 3 or 4 with Mirage.... So basically just need 3 wins with one, or 6/7 wins with the other too accomplish it.. And yet, I'm at that "I can care less" stage.
I do appreciate you being worried about my stress levels, but I am actually good.

@SxyAlphaBeastNJ So if it's not stressing you out anymore why are you still quitting? You're just making it up as you go along because you've run out of bizarre ways to excuse your behaviour.
We all know what spoilt brats do when mommy won't let them get their own way, don't we? They scream and bawl their eyes out. 😢
Stop ruining other peoples' matches because you can't get your own way. 👮

@warslag Were you dropped on your head as a child? I clearly just said I'm no longer stressed BECAUSE I started quitting... And my comments have been uniformly posted. Each one supporting the previous one, so how exactly am I "Making it up as I go along"?
As for being a spoiled brat, wasn't it you that just said;
"Or as the United States Marines say; "Adapt, Improvise, overcome""
Which is what I did..
I adapted to the play style of majority of Apex players. The ME before TEAM mindset
I improvised by not caring if my teammates have a fun game or not
and
I overcame the annoyances I was dealing with on a daily basis...
Unless of course you are calling Marines "spoiled brats".. To be honest, your comments are a bit scattered so I am slightly confused right now..

@SxyAlphaBeastNJ It's evident from your streams of sarcasm and rage that you are stressed with Apex because your teammates are a source of frustration for you.
You clearly think that by claiming to be a "quitter" that you can somehow hold Respawn's devs - who you referred to as "derps" - to ransom by claiming to be anti-social in game because that's what you think your teammates are doing.
Your teammates are playing Apex the way they like and you should also play Apex the way you prefer. No need to make bizarre threads about quitting because of some nonsense or other.
No need for temper tantrums.

You know, it seems to me that as if you are stretching here. Almost like you want (or maybe "need" would be a better term) my words to support your feelings. So much so, that you are adding to my words in your own mind. So please, allow me to make what I am saying clear (for the 3rd time)
I started quitting so I wouldn't get frustrated, and I can honestly say it has worked.
Yes, APEX players are going to play how they want, I agree with that. Do I agree with the style they are picking? No, not in the least. In my opinion they view this game as a TDM or "Free For All" game, not a Team Based game that everyone argues it is. They try to get as many kills as they can, and "quitting" is, in their opinion, "respawning". I have been crystal clear on why I believe this is. Respawn and EA, when creating this game, put the focus on KILLS and not on wins.
When you start off a game with a KILL stat that can be displayed, but DO NOT have a stat for GAMES WON, you send a clear message to your players that kills are more important than actually winning a game. I have even gone as far as to make a suggestion on how to begin to change this mindset.
Seeing as I can not change how people play this game, how my style of play is completely different then those I am matched with and how that difference does get frustrating, I adapted to the game. I have learned to view this game like most of the players do.. So I am not sure in what bizarro universe that is considered a temper tantrum.
Now for the rest.
I really am not sure if you are just accidently making connections where there are none, if you are trying to read into my statements purposely looking for a form of "meaning" that supports your argument (which again, none exist) or if you are just a Troll looking to argue for the fun of it.
Either way please allow me to clarify where you are incorrect.. First, I have yet to "RAGE" on here. Believe me, you are talking to someone of a high intelligence, add in a "go for the throat" attitude at times. If I were to Rage, you would know it lol.
There is an old saying "Just because people think you are paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get you".. Something similar can be said here. Just because you believe I am incorrect that players are playing an "anti-social" style, doesn't mean they aren't.
Also, where you are just making things up, I have never once tried to hold the dev's "Ransom".. In fact, that makes no sense in the context that you used it. This statement alone is what leads me to believe that you are just a troll... I am not saying you are, I am saying that is how this statement comes across..
In fact this entire comment just seems argumentative.. The ONLY part of it that is correct, is that I am sarcastic, which I openly admit and am very good at.
So before you click that reply button, let me say this. If you want to try and psychoanalyze me, at least do so with some common sense. Not doing that makes you look of lesser intelligence. If you are going to make statements, and say I said them, quote me where I said it. If you are trying to say that's how I am "coming across", then make that clear. When you try to use a "coming across as" argument, but present it as factual (like I actually said that) then that either shows your intentions just to argue or your lack of understanding on what FACTS are.
This post that I created was intended to accomplish a few things.
1) To express to RESPAWN and EA the negative culture they have encouraged and how it will/is effecting players that are "team based" players
2) To give advice to those players that are frustrated with how randoms play, letting them know that changing their style, in the same way I did, would alleviate that frustration. Also that being a "Quitter", as much as they may have complained about it in the past (as I did), is ok. They do not have to feel guilty for doing so.
And
3) Yes, to add some sarcasm to emphasize the need for solos. To, in a sarcastic way, show RESPAWN and EA where their game is headed if they do not address the real issue. A "leaver penalty" will not change the player mindset. Something a bit more drastic is needed..
I will admit, Solo's will not change that mindset, but it would allow players that want to actually win, that opportunity. In fact, Solo's actually gives both player styles what they want. Hot Droppers can continue to "Hot Drop" and "Striving for the win" players can do that as well.. Solo's would actually make the game better for hot droppers, they no longer have to look at it as 3v1's, they can now focus strictly on the threat in front of them, knowing when they get the kill, it's an actual kill.
The only way to deal with the "I have more kills, which means I am better than anyone else" players is to embarrass them publicly. Add a "Total Games Played" and "Total Wins" stat permanently to their player cards.
This allows other players to see how many wins a player has. So if you have 10 million kills, but 3 wins, it allows other players to see just how "good" you are. The players in question would now feel silly that they do not have more wins, so they would strive for that.. That would mean playing as a team and using strategy. Yes it would take time, but overall players would need to adapt a new playing style.. And maybe, just maybe, both worlds (Hot Droppers and Win Driven players) can come to a common ground playing style. One that consist of being smart and yet aggressive in the right situations.

+1 The main goal of the game is to win. That is why there must be a way to embarrass the kill farmers who are not interested in winning. - 7 years ago
"The only way to deal with the "I have more kills, which means I am better than anyone else" players is to embarrass them publicly."
What a completely ridiculous and pompous thing to say. It is also the root of everything you have said. It's your resentment towards other players, evident in that statement and others you have made in this thread, about the choices they make and how they play, that you are using to justify quitting matches.
When you quit matches it is not the gameplay designers' fault because they have designed Apex a certain way. Apex is in fact designed so players can have a variety of choices open to them for what they want to do. But if you don't want to hot-drop you can instead split after launching, go wherever you like, and play Apex quite happily. I do it all the time.
Just because you're piqued by players dropping into Skull Town it doesn't mean that it's the designers' or the players' fault when you keep quitting matches just because you don't like it when players hot-drop.
You could just land somewhere else and play on your own. Or make some like-minded friends and play with them.
But your solution is to hold Respawn to ransom by saying you're quitting matches. Because basically you don't want to hot-drop, that hot-drop players are ignoring you, and that you're not getting your own way.
