@LarppaRaksunen I didn't mean that there are variables with the matchmaking. I meant there are just too many play style variables, when it comes to BR games. Even with a single gamer, myself, I don't play the same way every single match. It just depends the drop, what loot I get, where the enemies are, available cover, lines of sight etc..
Myself, I stopped grinding ranked after I solo-queued to just Plat, back in season 4 or so. As soon as I hit Plat, the skill level of my randoms dropped off a cliff, and I just don't have enough gaming time, to dedicate to a ranked grind. These days, I pretty much just use ranked to avoid a map in rotation, if I'm not feeling it. Then I'll switch to ranked until the next rotation.
The matchmaking definitely needs work. I just don't really know how to go about it. Plus, I don't work for EA, so I have no say, Lol! You can't just put people together with similar k/d's and expect it to be any better. It would have to be a mix of a bunch of different criteria, in order to better the matchmaking process. Personally, I would factor in k/d, win rate, shots fired per match, shots connected per match, average placement, drop proximity to map center/flight path etc., and I'm sure I could come up with more, if I had more time to put thought into it. I don't really care about getting into a match within seconds. I would prefer to have more even matches, in general. My highest damage is BR is just over 2,500, so there's no reason I should ever be in a lobby with anyone that has a 4k or has ever made it to Pred/Masters. That's just my opinion though.
All in all, I still have a blast playing Apex, whether my buddies are with me or I'm playing solo. I don't play for hours on end each day, so that might be a contributing factor. My typical day consists of some Apex, followed by one of the single-player games I'm currently working on. Bouncing between Dead Space, Farming Simulator and Lego Skywalker Saga at the moment, when I'm not on Apex.
Lastly, just in my opinion, I never expect high-tier ranked lobbies on any game, to be "fun". Up at those levels, you're playing with all the people that take this game extremely seriously, and a lot of them are being paid to play it, or making money simply by playing (streaming). I've never really understood why people would expect highly competitive matches to just be for fun. The game basically becomes your profession at that level. Back in the Halo 3 days, I grinded to a 50 in SWAT and team doubles, and I can assure you that I did not really have much fun on the top end
