I used to buy the game pass, and AC, but I'm not even playing this game anymore.. you guys ruined it by making the match-ups impossibly hard with pre-made squads. How hard is it to match people's kdr's in matches?? I barely started getting decent, then started playing with my brother, who lives a long ways away, and we die everytime we get into a fight.. we're forced to go up against people with thousands of kills?? I barely had a hundred when I quit. Unless I hear this has been fixed I'll not be on Apex ever again. Im going back to call of duty, this game does nothing but make me mad. Thanks for ruining your great idea guys! Hope you ban me, I don't care in the slightest bit lol

@Dnewhouse1990 MM is absolutely laughable.But don't waste your time on it. If EA / Respawn wanted better MM, they could fix it easy. But they don't.Simply because they make more money if high skilled bullies stay playing with their 7 accounts, buying coins, skins and giving great PR when streaming.Sorry, but you are the food that EA / Respawn are feeding their cash cows with.

OP is right that Apex's matchmaking is horrible and IMO is the worst it has ever been this season. OP should go play something else that is fun and doesn't tick them off . . . I don't blame them.If you are average skill at best, the matchmaking for solos is bad but it is even worse for premades. I don't know how Respawn measures 'skill' in their algorithm & they won't tell us, but whatever they use doesn't match what my eyes tell me in the games I play.When you roll up on a squad and they hop around like they are on speed and destroy you in milliseconds, you know you are out your league. Then you check the Death Summary and see that your killer has tens of thousands of kills and millions of points of damage and that just rubs salt in the wound. Either that or they are a level 10 smurf. After multiple games like that in a gaming session, no wonder people rage quit and never come back.

@Dnewhouse1990I can't even try to soften the blow here. MM in this game is pretty bad. The only thing I will say, not by way of excusing it - just by way of explaining, is that I've never played a competitive shooter that could do any better. 18 years of Halo, and not one single Bungie title or 343 title could do any better at all. All I can say is that good matchmaking must be a lot harder than anyone realizes or someone would have cracked the code by now. And no one has that I've seen.

Apex has the worst MM system I have ever seen. I've never been so frustrated with a game's MM system before Apex. I solo q and my teammates are usually bad at the game, but we die to sweaty stacks. And...this happens the majority of the time. It's like the game is trolling me.

@reconzero Bungie has just added SBMM to D2 multiplayer for the first time. It sounds like the player base is collectively losing it.

People never respond well to change, but in this case I'd bet that 95% of the bellyaching is from the top 5% of players who are finally having to work for their wins. No matter. In a few months they'll have forgotten that sbmm ruined their game, and they'll start whining about how BAD sbmm ruined their game, just like the rest of us.

@KoolKid730 Haha sometimes I question it, myself!! I've just been lucky, I suppose. I haven't really had to deal with much of the big bugs that have plagued a lot of people. Also, I am always in progress with multiple games at any given time, so I never really get burned out on one game, unless it's a single-player game, and I already have 100% progress and achievements.

Honestly, my biggest complaint with Apex, would simply be the matchmaking. For me, it is not fun when teams are not even remotely evenly matched, including my own randoms. I don't want to go against Preds/Master players (I'm not on that level), and I don't want to be put on their team as a random, because I'll hold them back. I also don't want to go against actual noobs, or have them on my team. It just isn't good for anyone involved, Lol! In the long run though, I still have a decent win rate, and manage to just have fun in general. I'm one of those people where, even if I get rolled by a squad that I shouldn't be in a lobby with, my reaction is generally "meh, on to the next one". If I'm having a bad day and not hitting my shots, I'll just go tend to my farm on Farming Simulator, or hit up some Dead Space or Assassin's Creed or something. Options keep things fresh!!

@Dnewhouse1990 If it makes you feel any better, if you do come back after being gone for a significant while (at least a month) they give you baby lobbies for the first like, 10 matches. Then they throw you to the preds.

So, maybe just play once a month for the 2 matches that day?

I'm a level 540 prestige...with a low KDR. I got my friend into Apex this weekend for the first time. I played duos with him for a session. He was a level one....I get I am a level 540, but he is a level 1 and our entire gaming session was top tier players with 10,000 kills up to 40,000 kills. It was unreal. He lasted one session with me and then uninstalled. I tried hard to get him to continue to play. But how does one do that? How does one convince someone to continue to be obliterated every single match match after match and keep taking more?
He couldn't even get a gun half the time, let a lone shoot one....I think his highest damage in a 4 hour session was 49 damage.
Not even one gimme match was given, to give him a some what enjoyable experience to keep him hooked and playing. 4 hour session and the poor guy didn't have one kill. And hes been playing FPS for most of his life. But when fed to top players like fresh meat for the grinder....how is one supposed to get better?
And so I lost yet another person to play with. I can't keep friends playing Apex. I can't blame them.

@pandareno1999 Yeah, I don't even know what the issue is with that...played 5 games I think of control and got 2nd highest kills in 2 of them the other day. Then you get 2 or 3 games in a row randomly where you get mercied, badly, and all the good players are on the opposing team lol. Can't take it seriously with or without sbmm. It can't be a competitive game and neither can Apex 🙂 As long as there are variables, randomness and "things to consider" then no..it just can't be.

@NickBeam27You mention not being able to find a gun. Surely you aren't dropping a brand new player into a contested situation? If you are, you are the reason your friend uninstalled. A brand new player should be dropping completely safe and learning to loot first.

@NickBeam27 Yes, Apex matchmaking is atrocious. I won't make excuses for it...ever
However, I hope you weren't hot dropping that poor guy into Fragment every time. Drop as far away as possible so they can get a hang of looting mechanics and inventory management and then position them for 3rd party opportunities. Easier said than done but easier than hot dropping as a level 1.
