Anyway, hackers have a much easier method to get to the players: through cheats and game trackers. The cheats dig deep into the user's operating system, because they need to bamboozle the anti cheat anyway, so it's a good opportunity to insert some spyware. Trackers can record players' IP's, emails, etc. for later DDoS-ing "database".
