Is anyone else having difficulty with snipers?

@GH0STEDbyME Yea, the Sentinel is aesthetically pleasing to use, so I only use it for fun / battle pass challenges.

I don't know if it needs a buff to 75 body, so it can down someone with two shots if they have blue armor... but it needs something. A little faster on the bolt action or bullet drop could be the ticket. It's hard to use as a real secondary weapon when squads show up.

@7cyanide  I'm not sure buffing its damage further would actually be productive, as it would have to be a serious buff to put it on par with other snipers in terms if raw damage output.

Perhaps a headshot critic multiplier buff? It would transform it into a deeply rewarding gun for those who can aim a sniper, and it wouldn't tilt the disruptor gimmick either as that hits purely shield.

Sniper Rifles are in a pathetic state in Apex, and in most games, to me.

People keep on blaming weapons instead of themselves when they get killed.  That's always been the case, but it is particularly clear with sniper rifles.  Apparently you should be able to run straight through open ground over a long period of time without ever changing your path, and then when you get shot far away for it, it's the fault of that sniper rifles are OP.  Because, you know, the opponent had aim also.  It totally wasn't about doing something dumb, and then someone with skill shooting the dumb person for it.

You want to see what a real game sniper does? It is still hard enough to hit with it, but try the Titanfall 2 Kraber.  That gun will kill you in one shot no matter where it hits you.  And if there's someone behind you when you get hit by it?  They die too.  Because that is exactly what sniper rifles are supposed to do and why that game is often more fun than nerf gun Apex.

Who likes getting killed in one shot?  Anyone who knows that's what happens in good games when you either do dumb things or another person is just better than you.  And you play those games because they are good, rather than nerf BB gun doofiness.

Apex is so bad that even one kill shotguns are nerfed.  So...someone not only had the skill to move up on you, to play the janky game of run around in a circle until someone gets a hit, and then manages to blast you at extremely close range, with high risk ,for the kill. No...no that's too much to handle.  PeaceKeeper OP, 'Mastiff' OP (lol!)  etc. etc. etc.  And now we have water guns instead of shotguns.

So yeah, Sniper Rifles are pathetically feeble.  Doesn't mean you can't kill someone with them.  But it does mean that it's just atrocious trying, because you have to land multiple shots...and if I do a little work and get a bit closer, I can do a better job with a 301 because I need multiple shots anyway, might as well have stability and a big clip to do it with.  Nerf bullets everywhere.

@KelRieverHave to agree, I think if the EVA, 301, Flatline, 99, etc.... all meta auto weapons were nerfed by even ... 10% damage or something then the snipers would be in a much better state. It's really tough though because then everyone will just run a wingman and g7 or something.

I would rather get beaten in one shot by a skilled sniper then a level 5 gibby with a flatline on a new account... ok i won't go there today 😃

@7cyanide Yes, I think the answer really is sniper rifles have to be buffed.  Particularly the Sentinel and Triple take, the Longbow too but just slightly.  Me, I'd buff the Kraber but I know nobody's gonna go for that...
