More and more exploits are being removed from the game (yessss) so if youre refering to an exploit so yes probably.
Many of the old hiding/grief places around the maps also been patched, so people cant hide inside the terrain anymore.
- @Zkepz Not sure if it was an exploit, I was just watching a video where they used weapon swap and crouch to make it quicker. I guess that is no longer in the game?
@Eques3n
I'm not familiar with this one, but it sounds like an animation cancel or the like. When they become considered problematic, they do get quietly patched out. When they are not, they transform from a bug into a "feature." Swapping weapons faster than intended sounds more to me like the former, so no big surprise if it's been patched.It could also be that the technique depends on perfect timing, like a super glide, and maybe you aren't getting it just right.
- @pandareno1999 I just wanted to know if it was still in game. No sense practicing it if it isn't possible. lol. Trying to up my game and watching videos and spectating to see what people do. I see people swapping weapons almost instantly and am trying to figure out how to do it. Thus the search that found the weapon swap and crouch videos.
@Eques3n honestly mate, better off asking on an apex reddit lol, much more traffic there so you're more likely to get a definitive answer.
@Eques3n Do you know that weapon stocks greatly decrease the time it takes to unholster or to swap weapons? The difference between no stock and a purple stock is massive.
- @pandareno1999 Yea, I found that out. I go to the firing range and put in full purple on weapons and practice switching out. Still can't come close to matching what I see many times. That is why I was asking. I know it is probably something simple, but I just can't figure it out. I use the same weapons as I see, but no luck. I will keep looking and trying though.
Well, the other factor is weapon class. For example, an SMG has much quicker handling time than an AR. The respective handling speeds are pretty much in line with the strafe speeds allowed by each class. Pistols are the fastest, LMGs and snipers the slowest.
I'm not denying that you might have seen an explanation of an animation cancel that allows for faster than normal weapon swaps. It's entirely possible. For example, there is a technique one can use with Wraith that allows her to pull out her weapon much faster than normal when coming out of phase. I'm just thinking about some other, simpler factors to look at. Good luck!
- @Eques3n If people are swapping faster than you can do normally they are glitching and/or cheating.
