Is my PC build garbage or the game is horribly optimized?

RTX 2060 Super, Core i5 9400F, 12gb of ram with a 165hz monitor, all ingame setting set to low and I have done every possible thing know to mankind on youtube and reddit and other source of information to boost fps and game performance and yet somehow Apex is unable to keep up just 140 fps average. I have been playing Apex on my home build PC for quite a long time now and I notice how insanely bad the fps drop in the game is. Every time I drop from the dropship, drop fps, get into the close-quarter fight with multiple enemies, drop fps, firing too much smoke or grenade, or even get hit by gibby or bangalore's ultimate? drop fps and it even drop massively to even 80-90. Even just fighting some dude at a hallway and i still can't have at least 150 fps for my money's sake. Like holy S!!! at this point if I fire any gun it should drop some fps too. What the hell? What is wrong with this game? Am I supposed to buy the 3090 just to play this game comfortably at the lowest setting?

  • @KissYourHomieUwU It has been like that since the launch and every patch comes with their own fps drops etc.

There are people who have 3060 gpu and still can't get stable 144 fps in the game when playing in low, so you aren't the only one with the issue.

I have set the graphics so low that it basically looks like I'm playing OSRS just so that the frames don't drop all the time.

As far as I’m aware the Origin version of the game has a lower FPS cap than Steam. If you’re still playing on Origin consider switching to Steam! Don’t worry, as long as you log into the same EA Account your account progression will carry over.
