Is SBMM changing soon??

Is this true?? If so then I'm screwed. I'm not good at this game but I still play it a lot. I'm level 500 and my kd 1.1 but I find that silver ranked is much harder than pubs. If they change SBMM and I'm up against better players in pubs then I've got no chance.

  • To me it seems they have allready changed something...

I think they pairing is much more mixed like in season 3!

IDK it just fells worse than in season 4!

@Flashshark1980  Can't say I've noticed a difference, still seeing numerous diamond/master/pred trails in each match I play.

Doesn't feel anymore mixed for me personally.

I feel like high level/ preds are partying up with low lvls or smurfs to get past the SBMM?

  • No SBMM will ever work in a battle royal game.

People should stop hoping for it.

There are too many different ways to win to accurately measure it, and you have to go by wins for it to mean anything.

  • @KelRiever There should be SBMM based on experience. New players need a place to learn. But after an agreed upon level the matchmaking should be random.

Occasionally getting melted by high tier teams is better than everyone at all skill levels sweating all the time.

SBMM based on experience or played matches is abolutely missleading!

SKILL BASED is the main part of SBMM.

This means If you have good aiming and good number of kills and damage you can get tougher enemies.

But if your winrate and K/D drops you need to get weaker enemies again.

Hitrate, K/D, winrate, avarage damage all this factors are a good indication in which lobby you need to be placed.

If you get into a higher lobby every 100 matches, but your hitrate and avarage damage stays the same,

you will end up in a dead end without any possibilty to win or show a good performance.

That's exactly what happens in ranked mode. You get points easily, even if you hardly perform acceptable.

Result is you end up in a long loosing streak and all other teams feel overpowered.

But I had this discussion in another thread and someone else was pretty convinced that the number of played matches influences SBMM.

Maybe this is really true and could explain, why it seem to get worse the longer you play!

Another thing is that SBMM needs to be flexible. After 5-10 matches your playerpool should be weighted again.

So if you had a hard day at work and can't play as good as normal your lobby needs to be lowered.

After 1-2 hours you get better and your aiming improves so you can be paired with a higher level again.

In the good old days of CS 1.6 the grandmother of all shoters I adjusted the skill level by changing the server.

I had the possibility to chose myself, perhaps it would be better if everyone chooses the skill level himself...

Fine, then I would prefer EBMM, not SBMM.

Hell I’m not even against SBMM. I’m against FORCED SBMM.

This game in its current state (forced SBMM in all modes) is literally miserable. You have people of Bronze skill winning MORE public matches than players of Plat-Diamond skill. How is that ok?

And the absolute WORST part of SBMM is it actually deters friends of differing skill from playing with each other. Absolutely horrible.
  • @Marge010 even if it's changed it will not be worse than how it is now .
so calm down dude lol .
and i think SBMM was turned off two days ago as all the matches was neutral , nothing crazy and feels fair and one time i even got into bots lobby somehow .
    anyone noticed it ????

Ranked play is NOT SBMM why do you think that?

In ranked play you get ranked (as the name says) by the points you get.

Problem is, you get point very easy! And get ranked over your actual skill level very fast

You meet too hard enemies and start lossing.

That are 2 totally different ideas of MM!

normal play and ranked yre totally different from each other...

If you chose EBMM, you get automatically ranked up by the number of games you played.

This means at some point you climb over your skill level.

At this point your reaction, your accuracy, your hand-eye coordination just is not good enough.

You are trapped in a group of players without any possibility to get ranked down...

Also the speed you climb in rank is determined by the numbers of games you play!

So a player who does 10 matches per evening is climbing slower than a player with 20 matches.

I really doubt that would work out for anyone !

EBMM is really the worst idea!

In ranked mode you can at least drop or hold your rank to paly at an acceptable level.

Today I had 2 times a 3rd place in normal play and some other good matches.

    Little leavers....

For me SBMM makes good fair matches!
