At least that's what Hal mentioned (he playtested the new season). Not official yet but i really like this change, floor loot will improve a lot. But they have to nerf the gun a bit lol, i can already see a full team dropping on a single guy to kill him instantly. Now please add also a white backpack equipped right from the start.
IMO it will just become annoying, having to swap it out every game upon drop to get a second better gun. And might make it even more hell for newer players. Plus, I sorta enjoy the hot-drop Kung Fu action lol.
If this is true, I think it will be better.
The P2020 for sure is a weak starter gun and I give it up for literally anything else I pick up (except a Havoc, but that's personal because i hate the havoc so). Can you use it? Sure. But I mean, it's just not enough damage. It's like a BB gun on low power. Not even worth aiming for the head because of how little damage it does.
But starting unarmed just makes no sense. Watching people melee for more than 2x a P2020 shot is just silly, I'd still rather see people trying to shoot, and at least it has range. The thing is practically designed to be what you get on drop and throw it away asap.
Too bad in the sense, too, that the weapon has some nice skins for it. But again, like seriously, they don't even last in the hand to admire.
@hayhor @Cheese9Man Not sure but i'd find it stupid to implement it only on respawn and not from the start.
@KelRiever Actually P2020 does a good amount of damage (18 per shot), which is why i think it should be lowered to at least 15-16. Yes you have a gun from the start but it should be weak.
@Realthing707 Considering the amount of times i've opened 3 bins and did not find a single gun, this is a really welcomed change by me lol.
Only problem I have is that it will encourage moronic teammates to solo push immediately in pubs off drop more, nerfed or not.
Holy... let's apply another band-aid here and postpone the much needed and life-saving appendectomy until a later date.
Players have 150 HP when exiting the dropship. P2020 can take down any player from a distance in 8 or 9 shots. While melee is 7 or 8 hits, you need to be up in their face to hit them. I am not a big fan of the hot drop, I don't see this effecting my game play style at all. I will still be looting on the outer rim, while the first 10 teams are blasting each other into dogfood. But please don't change your strong desire to hot drop on my account.
