If this is true, I think it will be better.
The P2020 for sure is a weak starter gun and I give it up for literally anything else I pick up (except a Havoc, but that's personal because i hate the havoc so). Can you use it? Sure. But I mean, it's just not enough damage. It's like a BB gun on low power. Not even worth aiming for the head because of how little damage it does.
But starting unarmed just makes no sense. Watching people melee for more than 2x a P2020 shot is just silly, I'd still rather see people trying to shoot, and at least it has range. The thing is practically designed to be what you get on drop and throw it away asap.
Too bad in the sense, too, that the weapon has some nice skins for it. But again, like seriously, they don't even last in the hand to admire.

With hammer point it's a viable weapon. Without like you said it's just a starter. I've won some good games with a decked out pew20.
Since I haven't seen a single person mention it - forgive me if they have and I missed it.
The rumor as far as I heard it is that when players are respawned from a beacon, they will drop from the respawn ship with a P2020 with which to defend themselves. Not that everyone will make their initial drop armed with a P2020 at the game's start.
This could make me happy as some of the guys I play with insist on respawning me in terrible situations despite my protestation ( e.g. on top of construction with two or more enemy teams running around inside it, and even if I could safely get to my death box, it is 100% empty anyway), and randoms don't always make the best decision about when and when to respawn either. Even just being able to just defend oneself from a single thirsty enemy after coming out of the respawn ship, or using a few well placed shots to convince an enemy let you run so you can find stuff) would be welcome.
@hayhor @Cheese9Man Not sure but i'd find it stupid to implement it only on respawn and not from the start.
@KelRiever Actually P2020 does a good amount of damage (18 per shot), which is why i think it should be lowered to at least 15-16. Yes you have a gun from the start but it should be weak.
@Realthing707 Considering the amount of times i've opened 3 bins and did not find a single gun, this is a really welcomed change by me lol.
