@JonStriker126Imagine how those who have already reached 500 feel.
At least you're still getting packs though but yes it's take a break time as they have nothing on offer to retain players except gimmicky collect treasure packs once per day ect.. shoot prowlers and read an A4 page of lore story you could write on your lunch break instead of actual real content.
Let's hope the new map is good next season!

@apostolateofDOOM
Well, thanks, man. I appreciate the straight shooting comment. Guess it's just time to focus on other games, or maybe watch some shows/movies for a bit.
It kind of stinks though, I was about 2 weeks late to the season, and still finished with about a month to spare. If this is how it always is, I'll be burning through the next battle pass, and levels in no time. Only been playing a couple months and I'm about 105/110. This rate, I hit the level cap in like 8 more months. Then, there will be even less reason for me to play. Such a shame.
I will say though, I do look forward to the new stuff. Here's hoping we get a new map, weapon, and legend next season!- 6 years ago
@JonStriker126The current argument is if you enjoy playing the game then you don't need to earn anything as you're already having fun. Lack of content has been an issue since release but we're apparently getting a new studio soon so that should increase in the future, i just hope it isn't to detrimental to the stability of the game.
People like to accomplish things while playing and while ranked is the end game thing to work towards, they have basically made predator rewards a full time job that excludes most casuals or those with a job or family.
If you're on PC i would suggest hyperscape if you want a fast shooting BR but i'm not sure when it's out on console. Soon though.- 6 years ago

I cant tell you how many times I've seen that same phrase on the Overwatch forums, by players trying to excuse/wave away the lack of content problem in that game. So, I can't say I'm surprised that people say that here as well.
And, you're right, people want new things to play with or new things to play toward. Having goals in gaming isn't a new thing. I don't know why it's looked down upon so much, these days. Wanting to have new things to play and do isn't crime. Hell, it's the whole formula behind any live service title. The idea is, you keep paying money (microtransactions) and the devs keep adding content to the game.
Don't get me wrong, I understand why people have an issue with "this game lacks content", when you're talking about something like Breath of the Wild. That is a big, expansive game. And, if you can't find things you occupy your time, I would agree that's mostly on the players. Same with a game like Animal Crossing or what have you.
But, games like this don't really function in that same way. there are limited numbers of maps to play, there are limited numbers of Characters to play, weapons to use. Eventually, things like that start to breed repetition (in a bad way), if something new isn't added or changed to "shake things up".
When you lose that "goal", you lose that drive, at least that's how it works for me and many other gamers that I know. My goals were finishing the past, and finishing the quest. Those are done, and other than mindless grinding levels or trying to grind Rank (which has never been fun for me in any game), I just don't see why I should play right now
As for your game recommendation, I've seen stuff about it but I'm not on PC, so I can't check it out right now. I think for now I'm just going to try and find some other game to occupy my time, or maybe watch some shows and movies I have on various streaming services, Like I said in my previous comment. And I guess I'll see you all for Season 6 lol
(For the record, I hope you understand that my comments about not caring for the "just play for the love of the game" arguments wasn't directed at you, specifically. I was just sharing how I've never really cared for that mentality and I was stating how I've seen a lot of other people say that on different forums as well. It seems to be a go to argument that I just don't really agree with.)
(I just wanted to tell you that, because I know sometimes tone is hard to judge in the written word and I didn't want you to think my comment was directed toward you, specifically. Honestly, I appreciate your comments on this topic and it's been a pleasure talking to you, man)

@apostolateofDOOM"Imagine how those who have already reached 500" they're not that many, i think, only those who are paid to play (streamers/pro players etc...are lvl 500, there's no point for a regular player to play 24/7, especially a game with zero new content
- hayhor6 years agoHero@NaRnIaaa I'm not a streamer and I have been 500 for a couple months now I think. I also have a friend who is 500 and another who is getting close. There are a lot more than you know. Apex is almost the only game I play now and the game has been out 1.5 years. I generally play a couple hours every day, sometimes more on days off.

I've been playing for about 2 months, and I'm already about lvl 105. So, I could easily see hitting Max level before I even hit my personal "one year anniversary" with this game.
So, I don't think it's crazy to assume that a decent amount of people are already level 500, after about a year and a half of this game being up and running. And, That's without being a streamer or pay to play, like the other commenter said. That's just from playing the game.
Just because you play more than a couple matches of Apex a day/week, doesn't mean you're some streamer or you're paid to play. I mean, crazy thought here, but maybe some people just enjoy playing the game or completing the challenges within the game or what have you.
