@KelRiever To answer the title: I'm not usually a negative Nancy but this season has been very frustrating for me for multiple reasons especially the server issues I'm experiencing as well as my friends. This game I'm the one with the server problem then the next game it's okay but it's my teammates who's experiencing it now. Just frustrating all around.

To answer the topic: I can see where people are coming from especially in the drastic change in direction in how you should play rank. It's hard to change what people are used to be doing every split in the past 3 years. On the other hand, I think Respawn is heading in a better direction in general. The entry cost is a bit too harsh for many as well as KP close to meaningless pre-top 10 placement. I also like that rank is a way different mode now compared to pubs since rank bronze-gold (and even low plat) in the previous seasons was just basically pubs. I'm kinda biased since I always play with a pre-made (except last season where I ranked soloQ) but I definitely agree that this new system is a torture for solo players wanting to climb rank.

As much as I would like to see some tweaks to the entry cost in the mid-season, I see them wanting to get some more data before changing some things up. These changes are not planned pre-season 12 as I've reported before that the head of the rank system outright refusing to add demotion at the start of S12 hence not an ironed out execution.

        I have wondered if there is a drop off in ranked vs pubs. I know in my circle of friends that play Apex most have almost totally stopped playing Comp so far in season 13 because of the changes. Not because they dislike them but because of how little we get to play being old farts and all it has made the lobbies super sweaty. No one wants to play ranked without a full squad. So I know in my circle of friends there are few playing ranked at all. I would like to see data on it officially for the numbers playing comp/pubs to see if it plays out across the board.

    @Cheese9Man I don't see major changes to ranked within this season or next unless they see a drastic drop in play. And I don't see a drastic drop in play because for every person who decides they don't like this ranked there will be players who want to prove they can get their old rank from seasons ago again.

    I can definitely get behind this. I've said before that I think the ranking system should reward winning more than killing, but even more than that it should function with some consistency and not make players have to completely rebuild their playstyle over night. Especially when oh so few of them will turn out to have the patience the new system demands.

      I'm really trying to give this new Ranking system a chance but it's seriously flawed.  You can do Amazing cleaning up with people in a huge fight and it means nothing unless you survive to the end of the match.  This is absolutely bonkers.  It is no where near as rewarding to play anymore and as the title says this is NOT fun!
