I'm sorry to say that the badge is now meaningless, because it is bugged. Pretty much everyone who has played a moderate amount with Valkyrie has it. It's too bad. I've got a fake one, for a higher distance than I am likely to ever best.
@pandareno1999 I injured someone in the storm then ran. Was confused to get the badge a minute later.
526. It's legit then, got it in like s3 or s4, way before Crutch-Fly-Girl was in the game. Only ever played Valk twice anyway.
Are there any badges left that people couldn't get because of some bug or exploit?
How can you tell when it was unlocked? I know mine is from season 1-3 but how can I tell specifically?
I don’t have the badge since I almost never touch a sniper gun.
Can someone explain the valk glitch? Also checked that I’ve never won a single game as valk. Lol.
@Cheese9Man As far as i can work it out, if you down a player with missile swarm and they die, you'll probably get it. I have no idea how this works. I think my "distance" was like 700+ meters, I made a post about it when it happened.
@Cheese9Man To me it's not really a glitch, just devs not planning ahead. The badge triggers off downing the person, not shooting specifically, hence a legend who can travel upwards with a long range damage ability can easily trigger this. I feel like Horizon can get similar results on a certain map.
also measures by distance but devs didn't specify ground.
- @pandareno1999 I’m one of the lucky few who actually got the badge early one before the valk glitch. If memory serves me right I either got it in season 4 or 5. I had a completely unkitted sentinel with just a 1x red dot sight. I was on Kings Canyon, near where cage was but I was more toward where the outlook by caustics treatment side, saw a distant four way fight going on, just behind cage and decided to let a shot off, down someone for 17 from 711 metres off. Idc that it was a kill steal, still can’t believe I hit it with just red dot.

Sounds like a nice shot!! People don't give enough credit to HCOG snipers/marksmen. Especially off drop - though the irons are fairly good on their own. When I choose a longer range loadout in TDM or control, I'll frequently use the default optic it comes with, but immediately put it in my inventory and just use the iron sights for most encounters (or use the 1X sight from a shotgun if that's how the weapons are paired up, as I mostly prefer iron sight shotguns). Then I've got the longer-ranged sight if I want it later.
