I dread to think of the file size if they have all five maps in rotation. It's already >70Gb on XBox with three maps. I am not sure if there are 'hidden' maps too? I don't play Winter Express but am sure last time I did (2021) it was on an old version of WE. Gun Run was played on an old version of KC too, albeit a smaller version. All this has to be stored on your drive.
Would removing the arena maps help? I'd always assumed that arenas maps formed part of the main maps, but were completely inaccessible when playing BR (unless they are played at main maps areas, such as Hillside or Artilliery).
@EdwardDLuffy I don't know how they work it on Xbox, but all the PC assets are in there. The issue really is - they just don't remove the unused last season assets. I am fairly certain the old Kings Canyon map is somewhere on my drive. They will just patch it for the next season it gets used. While rumor has it, they plan to remove the Arenas, the replacement would be Control with larger maps.
I think the rotation time should be 45 minutes minimum. This would give more time to play at least 2 full matches on your favorite. I shouldn't have to look up the map rotation on some external website either. It should be displayed as it is for Arenas. With the population at a low point, it would not be a good idea to offer a choice of maps to players. However one could make plans to play their maps at the time displayed within the game.
@HappyHourSumwur I do like Kings Canyon and Olympus probably the best, I don't "hate" any map, I just dislike World's End the most. The positive I see about WE is Bloodhound's Trials, assuming you have good communication with the team, and no one drops in on you.
