Mastiff is so bad
Get this trash gun out of the game already, it is so useless, nobody uses this garbage gun. A stock Peacekeeper is 100 times better. I can hit someone 10 feet away for 12, but can use a Peacekeeper ...

Mastiff is better vs. bigger targets (obviously due to horizontal spread), so it's very good against Path, Mirage, Gibby, etc. who've got bigger than most hitboxes. It's not so great against smaller targets (Lifeline, Wraith, Bloodhound surprisingly) simply due to there being less horizontal mass to aim for. Get close enough and it's generally not an issue.
Peacekeeper on the other hand is just generally good against everyone since most of the pellets are centered in the middle. Now with that increased projectile width buff its much easier to hit all those pellets.
So... I picked up the Mastiff today just for poops & giggles... I couldn’t believe it... it got me my first 2K dmg badge XD (still not using it). I found out how to be succesfull with it. You actually have to ADS the darn thing (which I never do) or else the damage sucks unless you’re right beside an enemy.
I 2 shotted people from 10-20 feet for 60+ and eventually ended with 2350 dmg and 9 kills... would’ve gotten the last kill of the game. I dropped down so beautifully... was on building and last guy ran towards our building, first half a clip in the lifeline with my R99, then switched and jumped of the building Mastiff in hand, alligned my sights, clicked... no splash... see the ‘no ammo’ indicator and am like ‘really >.>’ and my teammate proceeded to kill the lifeline...
Anticlimactic...Mastiff is harder to use which is stupid. Mastiff should be the strongest Shotgun in this game. It does the most pellet damage, ignores leg shot reduction (means it's a body shot even in the legs), headshot is strong to 1 tap people but is harder to land.
All that and it has limited amount of ammo.
Peacekeeper is easier to use, is a normal loot pool weapon and simply needs a nerf. People can even snipe with the Peacekeeper.
You don't see people sniping with the Mastiff despite it having a build in Precision Choke.
- @Leo_the_Lion25 Same can be said about the Kraber and L-Star if you look at it that way. You don’t want those to be easier-to-use right? Else it’s gonna be a slaughter going for care packages and you’ll see much more obituaries involving those weapons.
The mastiff has become the second best shotgun after the idiotic peacekeeper buffs. The mastiff is stronger than the PK in close range by a tad, but the PK is More powerful from mid to long range. (with choke obviously).
