This thread gave me a chuckle.
Apex Legends in general feels weird most of the time. I'll just completely ignore the gun-play mechanics because whenever that is brought up, some people miraculously become as silent as a stone. Ever since Arena was introduced, I have been noticing some weird fluctuations. In some matches your aiming feels "normal" as it should, and in others your bullets phase right through the enemy. It usually depends on your performance prior to the incident.
The funniest and weirdest though was me throwing an Arc Star at a Gibby in a doorway. There wasn't much space to dodge to begin with. Indicator said it would land on him, but instead it phased right through him. I mean I don't want to make any accusations but I think Gibraltar ate Wraith in the desperate need for food. That at least explains the sudden lack of Wraiths.

What do you mean by "the gun-play mechanics"?Isn't accuracy badly impacted by FPS fluctuations?

It's a weird thing. Weapons in Apex Legends feel inconsistent, unforgiving (with a few exceptions) and often forcibly different. Using an R-301 is vastly different than using a Flatline VK-47 despite being the same archetype. Sometimes weapons feel out-of-place. An SMG can be used as a sniper if utilizing the right handling. I've been beamed by Volt SMG's from miles away. I honestly fear SMG's more than a Kraber. The high mobility paired with the inconsistent recoil, different weapon handling and hitboxes makes weapons mechanically unsatisfying to use.
To put it even shorter, in no game before have I been having as much issues with gun-play than in Apex Legends.
Also I don't really know whether frames impact accuracy that much. I have been sitting on a consistent 60 FPS since season 4, and except for the waterfall in Olympus has never been inconsistent.

This game is absolutely rigged but I don't I really don't think they have to modify your ability to aim or your hitbox in order to achieve their intended outcomes. In a team based game all they simply have to do is stack the odds against or in favor for you with the selecting the teammates and the lobbies they place you in. It does not even have to be that sinister to already be completely disgusting and unethical. However seeing that patent from activision makes me think maybe there is a whole other level of malevolence I didn't consider. I mean any where you look in big business the continued generation of profits and market share is the primary driving factor and the ethical treatment of it's consumers rarely even factors into decision making if it is not legally obligated. And even then they will skirt the law and pay huge sums of money lobbying politicians to effect laws. I don't know why we would consider any of the huge gaming corporations to act any different than huge corporations in other industries. The technology (specifically algorithms) have just improved to the point now where they can dictate individual gaming experience in a way that drives engagement and compensation. Fairness is almost certainly not factored into the equation. It is the same thing as social media creating your profile and then feeding you news, stories, certain friends actions that they know you are most likely to click through on or engage with. They do not care if 90% of what you are seeing is ludicrous bs and can negatively affect your psyche, they only care that you click it, and keep coming back to the platform to stay in your bubble.
