@Zkepz I've noticed when no filling I don't even need a special game. Just a couple top 5s with a few kills and some damage and wham lobby skill increase. I think this is why people who aren't really fighters struggle with the MM. You don't have to do anything in pubs to reach a top 5 so if you are a looter or a rotater the MM constantly moves you up.

@hayhor This garbage right here is why this game is going to die. Player count is already low. Just let people have fun. I'd rather be stomped by preds once every 5 games and have 4 fun games than have an uphill battle every single match until the stupid system takes pitty on me all for the rubber banding cycle to begin anew.
- 4 years ago@LetMeVsBots At least as it pertains to pubs, your sentiments are kind of how I feel. If pubs were more randomized, then at least you would be able to mitigate your overall success by practicing and improving above the median skill. So if you wanted to win more consistently, you could practice.
As it stands now, you can achieve significant improvement in ability but not win more consistently because the algorithm is intentionally pitting you against players to ensure your win rate remains in line with all players (save the top 1%).- YourNetcodeSucks4 years agoRising Veteran
@Axs5626Sxa5001A couple things,
I'm not even talking about winning. On trios, winning is a 1/20 chance. Winning every 20th game isn't a big deal to me. What I hate most of all is feeling like a fight is unfair for any reason, be it getting matched with better players, being shot through walls, or enemies teleporting around.
Secondly, not everybody has an improvement mentality. I don't give a crap about being amazing or getting better. I just want to shoot gun. I'm slightly above average, always have been, and always will be. I don't care to change it. I play for fun with friends and that's it. If I want to get good I'll go play elden ring or something. I should not be getting rubber banded between skilled and unskilled lobbies so often.- 4 years ago@LetMeVsBots I hear you—
What I am saying is that if YOU are above average, then you should have above average results.
But perhaps that isn’t what you want/or are concerned about.
Hypothetical question:
Imagine their matchmaking worked absolutely perfectly for them; every single match pitted you against your exact doppelgänger. Everyone won at exactly the same rate— would you be for or against this?
