Spammers are really annoying and frustrating. But I don't think a region lock is the answer. In a recent "check in" Respawn announced they are working on a fix for the problem of spammers.
Many people are affected by this and are doing their bit by reporting the spammers with a screenshot whenever they are able to do so. If you would also like to send a report I know that it will be received gratefully. A little more information on how to do that in this link:
