Matchmaking still ruining this game

As long as i have games where my teammates struggle to break 30 damage this game will never be fun to me

i shouldnt have to literally do everything every match. Its exhausting and becomes more of a chore than actual fun.

I just want a match where my teammates are competent players and dont run off by themself or struggle to hit a shot. Is that so hard

i cant go one game without fights being 1/2 v 3. Teammates afk, teammates disconnecting after theyve ran in and died, teammates who cant hit their shots

I JUST WANT GOOD MATCHES!!!! WHY ARE YOU MAKING IT SO HARD

I just cannot enjoy the game in its current state. Every match has one of the same handful of problems and there seems to be no intent to fix them.
- being matched with brand new players. It sucks for them when they are put in matches with people way better than them and its just a bloodbath, having expectations for them to be good when they wont be. It sucks for me as i am forced to do all the work if we stand any chance to win. I have to sweat every single game otherwise we get nowhere. It’s literally fun for no one.

- Being matched with people who just drop by themselves, run in by themselves and immediately die, then disconnect. And I’m expected to be able to carry these kinds of games. If they happened 1 in 20+ games it wouldnt be an issue. But it happens 1 in every 2-3 games, to the point where i wonder why i even bother to queue up every time. It isnt fun to have your game immediately Ruined cus some kid just wanted to do their own thing. The fact this still is an issue 3.5 years later is disgusting on the devs part. More penalties and harsher punishment for leaving. How long are you gonna let players control your games health.
- people who just generally suck at the game. We spend 10-15 minutes looting across the map and the first team fight happens and they are immediately dead. Games over. We wasted 15 mins for nothing. I look at their damage, 19 or some nonsense number. Why are these people in my game???? If they’re struggling to deal more than a melee worth of damage they are clearly not good. Dont even get me started on the people who somehow do 0 damage. Like how is it even possible. I say insta-ban for 1 day anyone who deals 0 damage in a game.

- 3rd partying. I swear every new map addition and change has only gotten worse with regards to being 3rd partied. It literally feels like if you ever take a fight with another squad there will be another 1-2 squads on their way. Why has this still not been addressed in 3.5 years??? Why have we made no effort to reduce the ability to 3rd party with better map design and reduced the sound effect and reverberation of gunshots. Why can you hear a teamfight breaking out from half way across the map???? Why have we not introduced some kind of team fight reset system after a team fight is won. Ie. If you wipe an entire squad, all your squads body shields are instantly restored to 100%. So you win a team fight and are immediately ready for the next one. It just results in a bad feeling when 1 team wins a team fight and before they can heal up and get ammo, another squad has heard the shots from miles and arrived when your team are still weak. Its stupid
- poor loot distribution. Why does it always take me 1-2 minutes to find good gear? I can open 10 supply bins and will get a p2020, some attachments, some sniper ammo, a white body shield, a white knockdown shield and some arc stars. Whilst an enemy opens 1 supply bin and gets a purple body shield and a r301. What gives????
Why are there still trash guns in this game like the mozambique and the p2020. Without hammerpoints these guns are useless. Remove them from the loot floor or buff them so we can have more consistent loot. I shouldnt feel scammed out of games because i drop and all i get is a p2020 and there is nothing i can do with this whilst an enemy gets a flatline.
Why are white body shields on the ground when everyone starts with one now???? Why are purple body shields still available on the ground???? The Only shields in the game should be the evo shields everyone spawns with and the gold body shield in vaults/trials since you have to actually go out of your way to get it etc. no one should be able to drop and immediately grab an extra 50hp because of luck. all other body shields should be removed from ground loot. If you want a better body shield and more health, earn it by levelling up yours or by killing and stealing someone who has a higher one than yours.

why can we not implement some kind of safeguard loot system into supply bins so its guaranteed to spawn 1 weapon per bin.

- trash challenges. Why are challenges still split between battle royale and nonBR. Just allow all challenges to be done in any mode the player chooses to play. Yes, some will be easier in some modes than others. Yes, some will be harder in some modes than others. Yes, some will be impossible in some modes compared to others. But…. Who cares???? Just let people play how they want to play and stop trying to dictate how they should play. You already try to force people to play certain weapons and legends. When is enough enough? Maybe i just want to play 1 legend. Why am i punished for doing so.
- battle pass quality. Just me or has the battle pass contents become worse over time. Its just filled with the same old rare recolours that no one uses. The same old trackers no one uses. More gun charms when they cant even add a new gun every season to put them on. All the good content, skins & emotes, are few and far between. Imo the battle pass needs a complete rehaul because compared to other games it lacks in quality. There needs to be new cosmetic types added, not stickers 🙃 actually meaningful cosmetic types. Why have we still not got the ability to customise grenades? Why can we not get a thermite skin?

- speaking of grenades. Any new grenades/items? 3.5 years and the item pool has barely changed. Why have we not got new healing items, new utility items, new grenade types. Its just the same old boring old grenades. Only additions have been support items with the heatshield and mobile respawn beacon. People barely use them because they are so niche. Why can we not have a freeze grenade? Or a flash grenade? Or a recon grenade? Trip wires we can place down on doorways to cover routes. A healing item that does a bit of shield and health? A healing item that temporarily increases your health? So many interesting ideas and we are still stuck with the same stuff season after season.

this game could be so good but the devs seem incredibly lazy and do the bare minimum per season. The last 3 seasons have shown this. 1 new legend, barely any map changes, no weapon. Bland boring trash

I'm usually not one to comment all that much about SBMM, BUT, I've started this rank season in Gold 3, and the amount of completely new players I get matched with is more than the usual matchmaking. Was thinking maybe he just doesn't play this legend all that much, but confirmed on mic that he just started playing a month ago, they were a duo, both of them new to Apex, both of them in bronze, I didn't think this was possible based of rank difference.
I always thought you were only matched up with teammates within a 1 full rank difference.

Follow up to my previous post. My buddy talked me into giving it another chance last night. So I joined up with him and we started off. He is lvl 17 and I'm lvl 10, our first match we get a guy that's 237. I let him know at character selection that I'm still learning and not good at all, he thought I was joking, by end of match he was like man you guys really do suck. But he didn't have any malicious intent when he said it, just stating fact. We wished him well and he did the same. This went on for the next 7 games, we never got put with anyone even remotely close to our levels. Not a single one was under 150. And not once did we see a player on the other team that was close to my lvl. Lowest one all might was lvl 45. We started each match by letting the player know that I was learning and not good at all and they were all good sports, one even managed to win the match despite being paired with us. Now game 8, we got a player, who I will not name but over lvl 200. Same thing, let him know the situation and then we proceeded to smashed the first round. But this guy decided that he was no longer going to play and sat back at the starting point until the wall killed him, throwing out holograms and design stuff while he waited. So we definitely got it handed to us that game. Now, after that, I'm back to where I'm pretty much done with the game. Once, again my buddy convinced me to go one more match. And as luck would have it, we know got someone on the other end of the spectrum. He was a diamond player, which again how on earth am I getting paired with a player of that caliber. But where every other player accepted that we sucked and just did their own thing. This guy actually was telling me where to go, where to hide, which weapons to get, calling out enemies. And wouldn't you know we won. I thanked him for his coaching and at first thought I was being sarcastic. I told him truly appreciated it. So he stuck with us for the next 6 or 7 games. Coaching, telling the pros and * of the areas on the map, when it push, when to be patient. Then we get into a match with 3 Predator class players, all the same team, clan, club whatever. At this point I'm lvl 15, my buddy is 18 or 19. And here we are going against a team with a player that had more lifetime kills than I had lifetime damage dealt!!! We got systematically dissected over the course of the match. So by end of that we called it a night. 2 Bronze IV players both under lvl 20 and a former diamond player, against a named team full of Predators. If you don't see something a little off by that, then I'm not sure what else to say. Anyway, just thought I'd throw this out there, since the EA community rep was kind enough to post below my first post.

@Gabrielmojo26this is exactly happening to me to, I am being matched with people two ranks below me and playing against people a rank above me making the difference between my team that I got paired with 3 ranks. I am not sure what the heck is going on but I can hold my own but I can 1v3 every team.

I constantly find myself trying to run after getting knocks because I am having to try and stay alive and not just bleed RP because my team is getting 50 damage and are killed.

I mailed a dev about the problem and guess what? he told me that I am a troll and will get blocked if I "troll" again, since when does stating your problems to the authority considered trolling? this game is genuinly just a cash grab scheme nothing else. They will just say iether you are bad, or your internet is bad, or you as a gamer are bad, and when nothing works, they say your'e toxic and troll and we will ban you lol

This will probably get closed for necro posting, but anyways.
I looked back and saw my post from S14 and the experience 6 seasons later is exactly the same. That's why I stopped playing 2 weeks ago and probably won't jump back in for the rest of the season.
While I don't agree with everything the OP said (I've been killed immediately with no chance and done 0 damage I don't know how many times), all their main points are still valid. The only things that have changed are that cheaters are more rampant and 3 stacks have gotten better. All of that makes the matchmaking even worse and the gaming experience feel more horrible.
It is just a sad state for a game that has so much going for it.
