@Asmodeus566The pessimist in me has the same concerns as you. People complained nonstop about arenas ranked MM. I'm a Diamond why am I with a bronze or silver appeared on this forum a lot. Even in the old BR system there were lots of threads by solo plats who ended up with duos where one was plat and the other gold.
My biggest concern is this tho- In season 13, split 1 they made placement king. After a week or 2 of that most good players that liked fast pace killing stopped playing ranked and went to pubs. That was the hardest pubs has ever been for me. Every single player in my lobbies had trails. And there were so many 3 stacks. The positive was that I got better teammates. But man it was the sweatiest pub experience I've ever had. They quickly changed ranked back to allow killing in split 2 because there were so few playing ranked.
@hayhor And even now placement is the way to go, because entry cost is still high. Problem is, 90% of players don't care, so this does not work. I've lost so many points because people hotdropped or pushed yolo a team.
If you ask me, bring back the old system, we tried to improve ranked, it did not work (and here i'm mostly blaming the players, not Respawn). Let's see how all this new stuff unfolds. I like the fact that they're trying to change things but i'm a bit concerned.
