let’s put it this way, almost every legend is way better (except rev but he’s getting buffed). in fact, with all the blue blurs of highlighter on the screen during his ultimate, mirage even bamboozles himself. two ways and one bug fix to make him more playable 1) remove the blue blobs and visual clutter to him and his teammates. the whole blue screen when he throws his ultimate literally helps the teammates more then him and his team. maybe make the blurs black like shadows or make all the clones black for him and his team. and 2) when someone shoots a decoy, they get highlighted like a bloodhound scan. it’s hard to spot the running man symbol and where it’s coming from. give him an actual good solid visual. highlight the enemy like a bh for a brief period (we could figure out a time that’s not op) the bug fix) when the decoy runs off cliffs, it just dissapears. make it so you can throw that decoy without worrying about it dying instantly to a cliff drop or jump. mirage has been around way too long for him to still be full of bugs. these two changes and the bug fix alone would most likely make most mirage mains happy. signed mirage main tko finn [CM - Edited to remove dev callout]

My son mains Mirage.... in his opinion, he believes his ultimate is almost over powered. He states that his ultimate recharges faster than almost all others, and because so - he can use the ultimate in almost every battle he encounters. I play a lot with him, and once he deploys the ult....its almost a guarantee to come out of the battle the victor. He 1v2's constantly once its deployed. He has specific movements he does upon activating and rarely does he not come out on top. He has said many times, "as soon as I pull the ult, they die." He has played all legends, but states, his win rate and kills, damage, placement is always higher when main mirage. I'm sorry to hear your frustration with him. But personally for me, whenever I go up against a mirage 1v1....if he pulls his ult, I die 9 out of 10 times. One thing I would not want to see is a scan on ppl who shoot his decoys. This game is riddled already way to much with reveal meta garbage. To the point of no return. If that was the case, than every legend should be reworked to be fair, so that every legend has some form of wall hacking, reveal, scan in real time rubbish....because you know - game sense has no business in a competitive BR game. : /

@Redmattgame lol just fyi, Mirage is the counter for scan legends. His clones also show up on scans.

It is when I don't see it pulled, or I happen to be looking in an area the ult wasn't popped that gets me almost everytime. However, yes... whenever a Mirage pulls it right in front of me, I then can always tell which is the real holographic trickster, by - as you mentioned, there are a few tell tale signs. The ones that don't know how to play him are usually quite obvious. However, true Mirage mains know exactly when to pull it and what to do as its pulled and immediately after. That is when I'm hooped.

I still can't get over how effective he was in last years WE where I played him exclusively. Popping the ult worked far beyond 50%, allowing me to either get away or kill my foe. Had this Gibby I got away from (and later killed), and in the next 10-15 seconds all I heard was "you got bamboozled" voicelines. Even the tactical was far more effective than I would've imagined. All-in-all a fun legend to play, at least in these types of modes.

@CCbathwater his skills are good. His pick rate is low because he's not that great for competitive (ranked). If they wanted to make him better for competitive, they need to change his skills around, but that might make him too strong. If Respawn can somehow make him more appealing, without making him too strong, he might become more popular. He is actually a really good counter against scan legends.

mirage is easily the worst legend, needs buff season 15

@Voidraker don't know about that. If he gets buffs, he needs some adjustments the other way as well. Otherwise, he might be too strong. TBH, with the exception of Valk, Horizon and Seer...the rest of the legends seem pretty balanced. The pick rate does not show that, since certain legends are chosen because they are more fun or they are more viable in competitive. Keep in mind that the slightest changes can affect both casual and competitive.

I see your point. i’d like to see him in some of these competitive tournaments (even once). Apart from rev, he is simply the worst legend.
i don’t think the balance changes i suggested him would make him op. many legends would still do all the roles much better. in fact it would probably make him playable in diamond plus lobbies.
i just think an ultimate should benefit the legend not hinder. he’s the only legend where the ultimate actually hurts the team.

Maybe this is because of my years playing Mesmer competitively in PvP and WvW in Guild Wars 2, but I can almost always track the real Mirage out of his Ult. There is subtle animation differences (a very slight delay, I think) between the real and the ult actions. It's a dead giveaway if one climbs or uses a door, of course, but there are always Tells.
The times I can not is:
When I didn't see it triggered, I just turn around or round a corner and there they are. Then it takes me a bit to decide which to shoot.
If the player is very good at pretending to be a bad AI bot (or just IS bad...).
Like I said, it could be from years of playing Mesmer in GW2. Used to illusion clones already.
I really think he needs something for a passive that works when his team is dead and he's alone though. Because the last to get knocked now no longer does squat for his passive as they took away self revive.

@Kyldenar All you have to do to find a mirage in a stack of decoys if you didn’t see it happen is just spray shot the area, and chances are you’ll hit the right one. Offer shooting them, the damage indicator floating above them tells you where they are.

@Voidraker lol I get fooled by his ult pretty often lol. His ult's pretty good and the cooldown isn't that long.
