Monitor Xhair

Hello, I have a simple question. Is it allowed to use a monitor setting to draw a crosshair/dot on the screen since hipfire doesn't give a good indicator on where the center of the screen is? The way it currently works is very disorienting for someone like me who's used to being able to customize my crosshair from Counter-Strike 2.

Hey AntonioEligius,

While we can't give blanket approval or specific recommendations for things like this, OldTreeCreeper's pretty much hit it right on the nose. This will largely come down to how any crosshair/additional indicators you may be using are implemented.

Generally speaking, a separate overlay (think Discord, Game Bar) that's purely for display purposes isn't interacting with or collecting information from the game. Situations where that's not the case are typically when we get into violations of the TOS/User Agreement.

Thats a coincidence, I was just looking into a similar thing, as I was having trouble recently with the transition from hipfire to a 2x sight. I was looking more at an overlay, as i use my tv as a monitor

Crosshair X or V2 is available through the Epic store, v2 being free. It looks like it ties into Game Bar on PC and runs as an extension there. So there is no problem with that. I only use the 2nd smallest white +, and it makes a huge difference. I did have to move it slightly to center it on the tv. It also makes the recoil very easy to see.

If your monitor has a setting that allows a crosshair then that would be fine too. The only issue that would cause problems is if the game software or data was interfered with, which is not the case with my overlay or monitor settings.

Thank you for your input, and although I would feel more comfortable with an official answer, having a crosshair available in the Epic store is pretty assuring. The only further thing, barring an official answer, would be was if it was in the EA Store. Hmmm, I wonder if there is such a thing in the EA store? 🤔

You are welcome. I could not find a similar thing in the EA store.

However, Crosshair X and V2 are available in the Microsoft store too.
