Multiple squads shooting me, not each other

OK, so how do you avoid this?  In a fight or third party and the other 2+ squads all turn and shoot us.  Has been happening a lot this past few days.

WTH is that all about?  They can literally be right next to each other and they both turn to shoot me but not each other.

  • Yeah I definitely feel this.

Maybe it has something to do with the positioning?

Possibly making yourself more visible compared to the others, so they might focus you more.

Quick reflex response, as they might believe that the other squad has more HP thus more dangerous.

Usually I chalk it up to being unlucky or that they didn't really do it intentionally.

But it sucks a lot, and I do wonder how to avoid these types of situations.

Guess it's just better to camp in a building as Caustic then.

  • @HappyHourSumwur i noticed that i get shot perfectly while just peeking out of my cover while my teammates are running out in the open field acting as way better targets not getting attention from anyone. I heard that some Aimbots have the option to mark predefined players that are on a "blacklist", preferably Streamers but maybe its also people that reported others for using aimbots ect. as kind of a retaliation.
  • @HappyHourSumwur Positioning is what I would look at. If 2 teams are firing at each other and you approach from a line that would cut down their center they will turn in you. Sometimes as you approach a team from behind the team that is pinched will realize it and decide to try and wipe you instead. I've been that team.
  • @HappyHourSumwur I’m always targeted though I’m behind cover and my other two are in the open shooting and reloading and healing, and the moment I stick my head out, I’m killed though they aren’t. Lots of strange things in the game.

Ask yourself how YOU choose a target when there are three squads in play.

For the most part, the third squad has the upper hand. They can choose to stay out of it if they want to maintain the element of surprise. Or they can pile onto one of the other squads. Which one they hit will depend on which appears weakest (often hard to tell in the fog of battle) or whichever one has the better position, knowing they will be the hardest to fight if they leave alone the two-squad fight.

Unless you're in a scrub lobby where people just shoot at the first thing they see.

@r1ggedgame At least for me its much easier to ads wait for peeking head rather than tracking someone running. But I guess thats more of sniper thing. With ARs & mid range I might choose to aim at those running in the open field.

    Also:

Why is that one guy staying there and peeking instead of joining teammates bullrush? Does he have kraber or maybe he doesnt have any heals/shields?
Should I target him instead his W-key in to lobby teammates that will be shot by everyone else as they are running in the open.

@hayhor I've got to be approaching from the side, at least some of the times. I swear I've approached from behind one team to pinch them and it still happens where one team literally shoots past the team in the middle at me.

they never saw me behind that cover and didnt get shot at at all the moments before, but all of a sudden while i peek it get hit in an instant with perfect precision ... yea right ... while my mates are literally rushing towards them and pose a bigger threat ?!?
it would write it off as luck, but it happens way too often.
Very strange things happening since the last 2 seasons
