I see, the only other FPS title I am familiar with is Overwatch at Blizzard's China server. Here has literally no cheaters in China server during the 20 months I have played.
I think Blizzard and its Chinese partner are taking cheating in Overwatch quite serious.
There is a public billboard of all those banned player's IDs on website each month ( probably including mine in February 2019 just for saying something against China !!! )
PubG was playable even when it literally had no anticheat at all. Although, you could see wonky things in pretty much every game, the game was still playable. Games with anticheat that is constantly worked on are not going to have cheater problems. So you may as well stop thinking about it and enjoy the game.
EAC doesn't seem to be a state-of-the-art masterpiece, but it's being worked on and I have faith in it not lagging too far behind the cheater's progress. It's doing fine for now, we'll see if it can keep up. And if it can't, well as long as the game is generating revenue, they can find alternative solutions.
If they sold the game ditched the match making and went back to private hosting servers in the hands of players
