New Player Seeking Help

Prologue

I been playing Apex Legends for a while now, but I'm still not as good as what I think I should be. There are times where I make great plays and carry my team, but other times, I make terrible choices or my aim is just bad. I feel like my negatives out weigh my positives, so here I am asking the community for help.

Epilogue

What can I do to improve? 🤗😁

Any feedback would be very appreciated!

Just know all the advice I give may not work for you.

    Recoils mastery

If you really want to improve, dive in training mode and master the recoil of some weapons. (this will be easier when the improved training modes comes out)

    Optimize Pinging
Of course, ping anything (don't spam ping)  that could be useful information, the ping weel gives you a lot of option to ping, so try to optimize pining.

    Game knowledge.
Know the map, and before starting a fight think how the enemy will move/react when the first shot is fired.
Will they run, hide or engage you, are you able to take the high ground and can you fall back when needed?
A mistake a lot of players make is not falling back when they are going to lose the fight or just have no escape.

Know the optimal range of weapons

This goes hand in hand with recoil control and will make sure you do more damage but also uses the weapons correctly.
There are plenty of guides online that explain weapons in detail.

    Teamwork

I cannot say this enough and I'm even guilty not of doing this.
Make sure you are in a few seconds of your teammates, when a fight breaks out and you are caught out of position or a teammate they can just engage en rollover your squad before you have time to get in a good position to fight back.

I am stil at that phase even tho i play since launch ah ah.

For me has been really, REALLY important to watch someone else games videos in order to understand what i was doing wrong and could improve!

As a second option i would say to find YOUR weapon, the one you feel more comfortable and safe with, and possibly the one you can actually control the recoil of and not just the strongest!

Thirs and last part, from my side, it's to be a great team mate: to be just a good one it's not enough, you must be the one who take the decisions when the other two don't know how to continue their way to the win. Share knowledge, healt, shields, ammo, weapons and stick to each other!

Eventually we will get there one day 😂

  • @NMCKE that question is easy to answer. I'll enlist the help of a friend:

If you don't, you'll never become good! XD

This is from a series called Battlefield Friends... it has a couple of seasons (6 as far as I've seen) with 10-15 episodes of 3-5 mins per episode. I don't even like Battlefield but I've watched this show so many times and this guy is the most badasssss of all. Not all episodes are on youtube anymore due to the machinima thing, but you can still find the show on other platforms so give it a watch :P

Check some of Aceu's YouTube Vids.

Despite the fact that his aim is god-like, I enjoy watching him only for his movement. It is so sick what he does.

And the best thing is, that he always stays calm, no matter what. Really cool dude. He also posted a vid for advanced movement techniques, but it was kind of rushed.

If you want to improve your movement skills, you should also check some vids of a youtuber called Mokeysniper. Helped me alot to improve my grapple.

Be sure to mess around in the firing range when it shows up, it'll help you get the feel for different weapons with different upgrades.

Thank you so much for the feedback, wow, you guys are amazing!

Yeah, I noticed that I don't stick as close to my team when I need to be which ends up getting my team killed. Just yesterday, I was able to knock two squad members because I was their third party attackers. I did very well, but I ended up getting knocked down by the last squad member by surprise.

Luckily for me, my teammates were seconds away and were able to take action when the last squad member ran away. I kept pinging his location which gave them a wall hack (my team took FOREVER to kill him but I don't have room to talk when I got knocked). Eventually the last squad member tried to kill me, but my Knockdown shield was barely able, at level 1, to buy my teammates enough time to kill him and become the champions. 🤗

Also, I think the PK is my weapon of preference because I can 2-shot a lot of legends and it feels so dirty (my a tad OP? I don't know).

The Peacekeeper has been buffed just now the projectiles have gotten added width to make them hit more at shotgun intended ranges.

Especially on Pathfinder and Lifeline those well centered PK shots often did like.... 24 damage lol, probably also partially caused by latency.

I always hated the PK, but i'm giving it a try recently, hoping ill do better with it now.
