Was playing with a buddy and came across a team with a Newcastle. He had his barried up, and not knowing, we climbed over it, just to get slowed/electrocuted by it. Like..wtf. It's bad enough that they gave him LL res shield, but he has an electrified barrier too??Maybe I'm just salty, but this seems a bit much. On top of everything else he has, why does the barrier need to be electrified?

NC is strong only in the ALGS. The problem might have been not knowing the enemy’s abilities.

@XxColdFangxX It’s electrified so that you don’t climb over it… that’s the point of it. Also it’s small, you can walk around it. If you want to counter Newcastle, play fuse. Just knuckle cluster everywhere.

To keep people from climbing over really doesn't seem like much of a good reason to give him even more.LL didn't get to keep her res shield and she didn't even get to move her team mates. She just had a drone, a rez shield and a care package. Now she has the * double res where you can barely ever pick up your team.Doesn't seem right that he gets all of that, and an electrified barrier on top of it.It would be like making ramparts barriers electric. It's. Not. Needed.Least now I know not to touch it.@hayhor If it's so easy to remove why even bother with the electricity then?Also I said excessive. Not op.

Very simplistic description: The term rotation originally comes from games like Overwatch and LOL that have teams that play together, heading towards a particular place. It was meant more literally, often turning at a corner in a strategic, disciplined formation. Now it generally just means movement from one place on a map to another in general. Since Apex doesn't have "objectives," except for needing to move with the movements of the ring, it comes off a a bit of a weird term, but is used thusly nonetheless. I feel like if lots of people started playing Newcastle effectively, we'd see casual players calling for a nerf due to his very effective revive capabilities, much like was the case for LL when she had the shield.

@XxColdFangxX It’s electrified so that you don’t climb over it… that’s the point of it. Also it’s small, you can walk around it. If you want to counter Newcastle, play fuse. Just knuckle cluster everywhere.

I don't own fuse, and you can't go around it when it's set right in the middle of the pathway. (Not without taking a longer route) and if you're squished between two teams, going around isn't an option either.
It's a barrier. Barriers are generally easy things to climb over. Other wise it's a brick wall.
Point still remains that it seems a little excessive. Climbing over it already puts you at a disadvantage of not being able to shoot for a few seconds and even then Wattson has an electrified fence but you can still get through it.

IMO if you're gonna take the stun and tiny damage anyway, just punch it. It only takes two melees to break. Newcastle's ult is the least problematic part of his kit, and the part of it that's a problem is the huge mobility he gets. The free sprint speed revives with his 500 HP tactical covering the other side is what's broken. When a lot of high level players start making him meta, that part is gonna need some nerfage.

Does it? I really don't know much about Newcastles abilities.
I know he can move his teammates and rez them, has a res shield, and a barrier that until last night, I didn't know was even electrified.
He just seems excessive in general to me.

@XxColdFangxX Yeah, and fortified on top of it. He's a really strong character, he just doesn't see a lot of play yet so not too much complaining happens. I had a great Newcastle random third on my ranked squad last week who knew what he was doing, and it was great! He pulled off at least two clutch revives on me that shouldn't have been nearly so easy. When you get one on your squad and you find a good knockdown shield, give it to him as soon as you can.

If LL single res shield and drone was too much, then this definitely is.

@pandareno1999 The frogman with his ult goes crazy far but he is never going to be favored by high level players. He's got a couple algs teams using him and other teams make fun of them.

@Cheese9ManThe only reason he gets played in algs is because you can play in weird spots. Then the horizon team comes, qs and messes them up. Or the team shoots out the wall. And only a couple teams actually play him. TSMs coach says he is a waste of a roster spot.
