Newcastle wall
Was playing with a buddy and came across a team with a Newcastle. He had his barried up, and not knowing, we climbed over it, just to get slowed/electrocuted by it. Like..wtf. It's bad enough tha...
@Cheese9Man
Not knowing aside, it still doesn't answer why it needs to be electrified. To keep people from climbing over really doesn't seem like much of a good reason to give him even more.
LL didn't get to keep her res shield and she didn't even get to move her team mates. She just had a drone, a rez shield and a care package. Now she has the * double res where you can barely ever pick up your team.
Doesn't seem right that he gets all of that, and an electrified barrier on top of it.
It would be like making ramparts barriers electric. It's. Not. Needed.
Least now I know not to touch it.
If it's so easy to remove why even bother with the electricity then?
Also I said excessive. Not op.
@hayhor
Yeah I'm a casual player, I'm not going to have rotation figured out. Not even sure what that means honestly.
I assume it has something to do with where the circle goes and where other teams will be.
Very simplistic description: The term rotation originally comes from games like Overwatch and LOL that have teams that play together, heading towards a particular place. It was meant more literally, often turning at a corner in a strategic, disciplined formation. Now it generally just means movement from one place on a map to another in general. Since Apex doesn't have "objectives," except for needing to move with the movements of the ring, it comes off a a bit of a weird term, but is used thusly nonetheless.
I feel like if lots of people started playing Newcastle effectively, we'd see casual players calling for a nerf due to his very effective revive capabilities, much like was the case for LL when she had the shield.
I’m sorry man but there’s a million ways to tackle a NC ult. Just by simply rotating can kill that team with movement legends, smoking the whole wall as bangalore, and using any legend with nades especially thermites. You do carry multiple nades instead of heals right? I haven’t seen a good NC yet that really knows how to play him.
Now have you seen a good Wattson or Caustic player? Those legends are way harder to ape than a NC wall. Just shoot through the wall.
@Cheese9Man
Why are all your options another legend?
I'm glad there's other people here giving other suggestions on how to deal with it.
I'm not going to play a specific legend on the off chance I come across NC or whoever else might pose an issue.
Im going to play who I'm comfortable with.
While I don't think NC is over powered. He definitely has more going for him than other legends even do.
As for nades, it depends on the size of my backback and what I'm more in need of. Smaller bag means I'm going to value heals over throwables.
Other than that it's just me being a derp and forgetting to use them.
@hayhor
Not 100% sure why that is, but I definitely have an easier time in Fortnite than Apex.
Could be the added mobility Apex Legends have over fortnite characters, the aweful matchmaking where I'm going against better more experienced players that know the better places to be and just rotate better than me, or legend abilities themselves.
Defiantly a lot harder to go unnoticed with the scan meta.
Fortnite doesn't have insane character abilities, it's just you, the guns you pick up and upgrade, shield potions, and depending on what game mode you play, how well you build. (I prefer the no build mode)
There's vehicles you can use to rotate faster, but they're loud, so you always know where the guy in the car is, pretty easy to avoid, and sometimes they add special weapons and items for the season.
@XxColdFangxXWhy are all your options another legend? Who do you use then? Remember that this is a HERO-BASED game where some characters are innately better than others based on their skills/abilities.
If you have more than 120 bullets for 1 gun, I don’t see a problem attacking a Newcastle team.
“I’m going to play who I’m comfortable with.”
I play a lot of Caustic the last two seasons so I’m gonna ask for a Crypto nerf because he destroys all my traps in just one click, does 50 damage and also slows me?
@pandareno1999It only disables the stun for a while but doesn’t destroy the wall completely. Not sure about the tactical if it gets destroyed.
@Cheese9Man
Heros with abilities means nothing if you aren't good or comfortable using them.
I main LL, that match I was using BH, and the third option is Maggie with the occasional Ash.
Vert rarely have I ever run into NC in games, picking a legend I don't know how to use on the off chance that I'll run into him is ludicrous and puts me and my team at a bigger disadvantage than we would if I just shot the thing with my main.
Like I said before if you absolutely need a certain hero to get past something then it is unbalanced, but thankfully other people here have posted more fesable solutions other than pick a legend you might not own or know how to use.
Legend abilities should be unique to each legend and imo there shouldn't be one that can just cancel another's ability. Destroy maybe, if it's balanced, but I prefer the destroying to be able to be done outside of abilities.
Don't know anything about crypto so im not going to comment on that but I'm sure he's already had a nerf.
But I will say. I am NOT asking for a nerf.
What I am saying is that his abilities seem like a lot in comparison to other legends.
If you can't wrap your head around that, then frankly do yourself a favor and QED.

Not sure how accurate this is but not only does the dude have 4 shields and is fortified due to his dad bod, he can cancel wattson fences, jump to out of sight allies, and even damage people with his mobile shield. (Not much tho)
It's more than any support has and more than the other defense legends have. He's basically multiple classes in one.
Nice to know the electricity on the barrier last 30s.
@XxColdFangxX You really ought to consider reading patch notes when they come out. Plus, we can use all legends in the firing range now, and I recommend getting familiar with all of their abilities so you're not caught out by surprise like this.
@pandareno1999
I really should.
I've been slowly trying to branch out the legends I use, firing range will only do so much for me, fighting against actual people is different than the dummies.
And then there's the ones I just don't want to use because of how they feel. Gibby, NC, probably caustic.
Part of the issue is indeed not knowing, but adding the electric wall on top of what I did know, just seemed like a little much to me.
