@bosourdThose are my thoughts. I don't see much of the Sentinel in it. But I see some type of hybrid between a Wingman and G7 maybe with a touch of the TT in it (the charge up).
I can't decide if it's needs a nerf or if it's in a good place. I was messing with it and a G7 in the firing range. The G7 fire rate is much better.. It seems like the G7 is definitely better for body shots where as the 30/30 is better if you can land headshots. That's especially true if you full charge it for the headshots.
I have not tried to use a wingman in game (yet) against a 30-30 I'm sort of scared to. The Wingman really only shined in that area that was some place between CQC and mid range. Wingman can spam shots faster, but it's much more difficult to control the faster you shoot it. I don't know if the wingman can compete with the 30-30, especially if the enemy is running a 2x on it. I'll probably try running the wingman tomorrow to see how it measures up.
The one benefit is I do play Bangalore and I will put a digital threat on my wingman. So I will likely smoke the enemy if I can.
But I bet people will use the 30-30 in ranked a lot more later on especially at platinum or above.

@bosourdIf they keep it the same it's probably going to be my secondary gun in ranked.
I will use the wingman in pubs for fun but that's it. It does not hit hard enough for ranked especially higher ranks in which you have to deal with Mastiff. I have hit 2 consecutive headshots on a Mastiff player and they only did 78 damage or so. Mastiff player 2 taps me to the body and I was dead. That one made me a little mad and made me avoid the wingman in ranked.
I don't think the 30-30 can go toe-to-toe with snipers though. It can probably outshoot a longbow because the longbow body shots are so weak. But the TT, Sentinel and charge rifle hit harder. If I don't have a 30-30 I'm likely going to be running TT/Charge Rifle or Sentinel.
Even if the enemy is giving you a hard time, just put some distance between you and the 30-30 player. The bullet drop on the 30-30 is fairly intense in long ranges and most players won't be able to compensate for it. Most players struggle when a gun has ton of bullet drop.- 5 years ago@DarthValtrex maybe it needs more bullet drop, or higher recoil, keep the damage, that's why people don't really want to use G7, they just don't want to deal with the bullet drop, but if you are good with it, it can be so painful to go against.
If not, I don't see why would you want to pick G7 over 30-30.- DarthValtrex5 years agoHero (Retired)
@bosourdI feel like the G7 is more versatile if you're good with it.
If they do decide to nerf the 30-30 I could see them lowering the damage done when it's not charge. So you have to charge it and have to be accurate with it. Right now you can just spam it and don't really have to charge it unless you're going for headshots on a stationary target. I think if they add more bullet drop it will feel a lot like a slower firing but harder hitting G7.
What's the G7 hit to the body? 36? Maybe make the 30-30 hit for 34-38 to the body without a full charge. Fully charge it can hit for 40-50. That seems like a fair trade and it would definitely make it a marksman rifle. You'd have to hit your shots and wouldn't be able to just spam fire it.
