- @hayhor Agree, if already the dropship made the whole map know your location, imagine the dropship and a noisy beacon that comes as a care package, must as well just put an alert that says "hey someone just got respawned"
They're barely useful. Barely. Definitely not something you keep in your inventory.
They just missed the point of the complaints against standard respawn beacons entirely lol.
It was never a issue of people camping them....it was the fact they were so loud and visible, which leaves you highly vulnerable.
So they create a system which vastly enhances both these issues.
I've only been respawned once by one as not a fan of A&D. As I dropped I could see hordes of enemies streaming towards the respawn point! My poor little BH took so many bullets his gas mask fell off.
I actually found them useful and I kinda like them! Here are ways I'm using MRBs:
1. Use it as a bait: when you want to make enemies come out of their hideout, or when you want to distract them and rotate safer around a cliff.
2. Faster respawn: when you have the high ground or when you know enemy teams are not close or they are busy fighting each other.
3. Respawn in bad circles: when enemy holds or used the only available respawn point and you really want to bring your teammates back.
Of course everything comes with a price and using it is not risk free and I believe
1) if it could respawn automatically, and didn't need you to wait long for its landing and then standing still for activating it
Or
2) if it lands and activates faster than normal respawn beacon, then it would be much more useful
p.s. maybe it gives leavers on casual games a motivation to remain in games a bit longer.
Yeah they're a nightmare lol.
It should have just been a ultimate accelerant style item with like a 16 second activation time followed by the usual sequence.
Here’s an idea:
Use multiple beacons before a fight. This allows you to just collect a teammate’s banner and just slap it straight back into the Respawn beacon.
Plus, since it’s so loud, you can attract enemies to third party, hopefully third partying the enemy.
- @MrCarri-X Exactly. Yesterday I used one in a spot I thought no one would be near. As the beacon landed it was so loud I never even heard the pathfinder flying in with it. I died instantly.
- @Alphabets You are really grasping for something good with these.
It's useful when you have battle on the edge of the ring, you team mate is die with so many death boxes around and time is ticking.
Previously, I have to go nearest beacon and team mate has to comeback and might not have enough time.
Since I was next to ring, no enemy will attack from back and teammate can loot immediately and ready for the next fight. It just took 30 seconds then we all fully equip again.
